(Hopefully) simple question here really- Which armoury do the various Chaos Lords on Daemonic Mounts choose from? Are they still restricted by the ones given in the Index or do they choose the options from their relevant codex?

The index/codex flowchart covers what happens when there are wargear options that suddenly become unavailable in the transfer, but it says nothing of the opposite (yes, full disclosure- I'm trying to see if I can get a Balesword on my Lord on Palanquin) All it says in their datasheets is "This model may replace its X with one item from the pistols, combi-weapons or melee weapons lists" but the flowchart makes no reference as to which list to use. All it says is "Use the index version of your model's Datasheet". The attached common armouries are not part of that Datasheet- correct?

The datasheet is only in the index, so they only have the index armoury available.

If you don't have a codex version, you use the index version. Unlike models with a codex version, you can't mix and match, you're locked exclusively into the points and options in the index (although your wargear uses the latest profiles).

While you are limited to the Index loadout, you could still give them relics from the Codex, assuming they have the required keywords.
