I am looking to build some crusaders for my Astra Militarum Army.

Howevr im not a huge fan of the GW ones. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on After Market or GW models that would be good substitutes. I would like them to have swords and Shields.

The AOS line might be weird ? dunno but i am not a huge fan of adding Fantasy elements to my Guard.

I would also be open to Mod bits as well...keeping in mind that they need to be on 25mm bases

thanks

I have an idea. You're going to need plasticard. Greenstuff and some how find 28mm heroic scale Jedi/sith. Or a wizard of some kind.

I googled both nothing promising. Good luck on your quest. Try reaper miniatures there hard plastic line for wizards.

I you search a little with key words like "INQ 28 conversion" you will find a lot of conversions for inquisitorial retinue, including Crusaders. There are a lot of bits which can be used :
* power weapons are not to hard to get
* shield / stormshield are common in Adeptus Astartes line but plasticard + greenstuff / milliput can work too
* Scion chest is quite good for crusader if you got some spare, lighter than power armor ; Genestealers neophytes hybrids body and legs are good too
* AoS / WarHammer high elves legs are quite good since you got knee armor and chain mail
* Head can be from lot of GW lines but Kromlech and Victoria Miniatures can provide very good alternatives ; within GW range I would go for Sicarian Infiltrators or Ruststalkers heads
* Marines arms without shoulder pads and little greenstuff / plasticard

Crusaders are quite open for conversion so you got a load of options.

Check out bourgeoisee's P&M blog here on Dakka... those are hands-down the best converted Crusaders I've seen.
