What’s the beat crisis suit load out if you’re taking 2-3 squads?

Also have a rules question. The book says crisis suits can take any ranged weapons so what’s stopping them from taking 3 pulse driver cannons each? That’s the big gun on the storm surge. Seems like this should not b possible. It just seems silly but I can’t see why you couldn’t do it.

CIBs are generally the best gun, as they’re good against all targets and the best against invulnerable saves.

The Ranged Weapons list is just that, a list. It’s in the front of the datasheets.

I'm not sure what that means. it's just a list?

The crisis suits can take anything from the ranged weapon or support system lists. The list is on page 121 which includes every single weapon, so by definition they can take ANY weapon in the Tau arsenal. Seems weird can each take 3 pulse driver canons.

That's not the ranged weapons list. The word list isn't even on that page.

Like I said, the list is in the front of the rules section of the codex, before the datasheets. The support systems list is there as well.

The codex isn't well set out and it's easy to miss the equipment lists - but those are the options. It's more obvious on the enhanced edition, because the datasheet links directly to the list.

Cyclic ion blasters are decent, but honestly crisis suits aren't a good unit right now. They just cost far too much. The big FAQ now prevents you from deep striking them on turn one (except in your deployment zone) and that hurts an already bad unit even more.

I've got some still on their sprues. I can't see myself building them any time soon, unfortunately.

The T1 deep strike thing is overhyped. People screen carefully at the start of the game but they often get sloppy later on in the game as they chase after objectives or rush to counter your force on the table. The reserves rule is barely a knock on Crisis suits, if it’s even a knock at all.

They’re super killy, and a 3 man CIB team can obliterate a variety of targets. They’re just a bit of a glass cannon, like a Coldstars.

I've always been a fan of Fusion Blasters on Crisis Suits since it offers you something you can't really get in your army (outside of Stealth Suits and Ghostkeels). CIB's are good too, but good luck finding enough bits.

I'd recommend checking out this article. It was written a year ago when T'au only had the Index, but it still holds true today:

Overcharged CIBs went from Assault d3 to Assault 3, which is a fairly big difference.
