Hey guys, I have a ton of left-over bits from Dropfleet commander and I thought I would use them to craft a Hulk and Rock Ork fleet. I was just wonder, what is the size of the miniatures? I leave near a rocky beach so I was want to know what size of a rock to pick up as a base.

It's BFG, the miniature size is literally irrelevant. The Hulk uses large flying base, which is 60 mm in diameter if I remember correctly, but other than that, do as you wish. I'd personally build the Hulk to be maybe the size of both of your fists, roks larger than cruisers but smaller than battleships.

I have an ork hulk that is about the size of a battleship or battle barge. I don't think you can make it too big, as measurement goes to the base/base stem in-game.
The one I have is made of pink insulation foam glued together and carved/sculpted to look like rock, then the bitz were glued on, buried in, and generally added as needed.
I don't think a rock would work, though pine bark might, now that I think of it, just due to its weight.

A hulk can be any size you want just aslong as you mount it to the large flyer base. You can use small bases as stability support but then the large base has to be in the middle and all measurements must be taken from that.
Since the ships actual precense on the table is just the stem of the flyerbase, the models are just eye candy.
