"Tell your gods we are coming for them, and that their realms will burn as ours did." -Thostos Bladestorm
This looks pretty interesting.
It's even got Sarah Paulson, queen of sci-fi exposition
Wonder if Haley Joel Osment will appear or anyone from the Village.
..have to admit did not see this coming prior to the end of Split.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I always wanted to see more after watching Unbreakable when it came out, and the ending of Split was icing on the cake that was an already awesome performance in that role. I cant wait to see a supervillain team-up.

I didn't know about Split before this thread . After watching the trailer, though, it doesn't seem like Unbreakable at all... is it important to watch to understand the over-arching plot? Do any of the characters from Unbreakable make an appearance?
(Might want to use spoiler tags when replying to that...)
Glass, on the other hand, looks fantastic and very much in line with Unbreakable which I loved!
The Shamalan TWIST to Split is that it's in the unbreakable universe. Otherwise it takes place in it's own corner of it. It was enjoyable. I say watch it.
These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
I generally enjoy Shamalan's films.. also like how they're all based in the general Philly area. I know a few folks who have been extras in a few of them. Looking forward to this one.

Those along with Lady in the Water and the Airbender made him toxic, to the point where studios wouldn't put his name on stuff despite his involvement.
The Devil was decent though, from what I remember.

I couldn't watch split. I got just a little into it, they reminded me of GC, and I turned it off.
Loved Unbreakable.

I wonder what angle the hospital plays in the movie, because the psychiatrist's speech seems a bit odd in the face of the actual proveable evidence of the setting.
"David, I am sure you think you have superpowers, but it's all just a side effect of your delusional state-"
"Lady, I can get mental flashes of wrong things people have done, can't get hurt, can't get sick, and I can bench press over 500 pounds. Three of those four things you can literally watch me do."

If Bruce Willis came up to me and told me he was a superhero and he could bench 500 I would laugh. Then if he tried to show me I would definitely get worried and think maybe he was a bit delusional. I would probably get uncomfortable and call 911 because he needs help.
Not getting sick isnt a big deal, healthy immune systems work that way. Also, unless they have been observing him for like 10+ years with absolutely no signs of being ill, it would probably go unnoticed.
Not getting hurt? Nobody is going to stand there and let somebody punch themselves in the face or stab themselves. Self harm? Lol no.
I’d like to see you Stop the indestructable guy who can bench five hundred pounds from demonstrating he is indestructible and can bench five hundred pounds. I mean what is she gonna do, have a couple orderlies hold him down while she injects him with a sedative? Seriously.

Perhaps she will try and prove their abilities are born of human perception. If you believe hard enough to gain powers, can said powers be stripped away with their belief in them?
Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Yeah. I mean, a guy who can bench 500 lbs against two 200+ guys with a knockout syringe? Money is on the orderlies. Or they call for a third or a fourth. Say he was delusional and fighting like mad. They had to take drastic measures. That is probably how they will see it.
I think the real interesting thing will be seeing how the doctors brush these obvious super powers off. I mean we know they are real. But the doctors will try to make sense of it.
I have a theory. I think Bruce wants to be in there with them and the other two want out. It would make sense as to why he doesnt just do what you said. He has his Arch Nemesis locked up forever and cherry on top, another one who is also really bad. Looks like they are starting a group for your type of delusion so more might show up. At this point he is a jailer, I believe.
We were rewatching trailers the other day and I noticed the large chains holding Bruce down in that interview room compared to the other two. They Do clearly know how strong he is.
I'm guessing both David and the Horde both get captured after a confrontation, and the hospital takes place after that, where Glass then starts manipulating the Horde to fit into his crazy comic book world view.

Oh, I totally missed that. Good catch! I wonder how they justify having to chain him but not admitting he has extraordinary / abnormal strength...
