At the moment i'm building a knight list. I just love the models but als am a competative player and friends of mine have started picking them up so excuse not to use them.

Before I am going to spend large amounts of money however i'm trying to build al list that would work against most opponents. I 've seen some battle reports and IK seems to struggle agains infantry heavy list. Especially in boards with buildings. (they can't get into close combat with them.) So i'm trying to build a list a bit more shooty but with enough close combat power to give 'm a good old punch!!! (yeeaahhhh) Biggest issue... do I include Armingers or is sticking to big knights the better idea??? Hear are some idea's. Love to hear you'r opinion.

Second list has some more anti infantry love I think but first list has more high toughness wounds on the table. What do you think?

It's not actually possible to run Infantry squads at 6 or 8, each Infantry squad is set at 1 Sargent and 9 Infantry for 10 total, no more no less.

I'd look at Heavy Bolters over Mortars, I've run both and get far more work from the Heavy'Bees, The Mortars look great on paper but do jack all most of the time in practice, For out of LOS clearage Basilisks do it better.

I wouldn't run Sniper Rifles on Infantry squads, Ratling squads can do some serious work on supportive characters but the standard dudebro misses half the time so single shot weaponry is not favorable if you can't field it on mass.

Sadly our Crusaders cannot take dual Gatlings, only Renegade Knights can be fielded in that pattern, I think if your really interested in getting some anti-infantry power into the list you should look at dropping one of the knights and bringing some imperial guard armor, Hellhounds taken as an outrider would add an extra command point and can advance up alongside the raven knights and unleash holy flame with impunity, Tank Commanders can cover alot of bases and a punisher gatling moving less than 6 will throw down 40 str5 shots just off the turret, Basilisks and wyverns are a tried and true guard stable and both capable of putting large wholes into anything they want with relative impunity.

"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and asks the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer." Javik, Mass Effect 3

"Some trees flourish, others die. Some cattle grow strong, others are taken by wolves. Some men are born rich enough and dumb enough to enjoy their lives. Ain’t nothing fair." John Marston, Red Dead Redemption

Thanks for the reply. I take it from you'r reply you are not familiar with building lists in Battlescribe? It uses the number for models that carry standard loadout (lasguns) So if it says 6, than there are 6 models in the squad with a lasgun. The other have special weapons etc. All the squads are 10 man strong. I get that this is confusing so I edited the lists a little bit.

Snipers are there because I had some spare points. Heavy B's are awesome but I like mortars better because they can target stuff out of line of sight.(a must agains Tau army's bacause of all those drones)

I doubt dropping a knight is a wise choice because I lose CP if I do. (I have 10 now, so it's not a lot) Or I have to put knights in the same detachment losing the house rules I preffer for them. Raven is best for the Castellan because of the reroll 1's. I like Taranis because it helps keep them alive.

I totally agree on a vulture gunship or pask with a punisher is better VS infantry. But wat to drop to get them? Also, they will be the only vehicles on the board with no inv. save making them the easy targets.
