Quick background is I run both DA and BA lists, and I have 2 squads (or a single 10 man unit) of standard power fist terminators.

Obviously I always ran them as Deathwing because it's fluffy and they've always been great. But in 8th edition I can't see a good reason to keep them in the DA list. Okay, so they auto-pass morale (not a huge deal compared with ATSKNF imo but happy to hear otherwise). Being better at fighting FALLEN units will literally never come into play for me, and finally Deathwing-specific stratagems are lacklustre - especially as I want to save all the limited CP I have for boosting my plasma Ravenwing between objectives.

If I use them as BA instead they get +1 to Wound which is a big deal for taking on armour, and considerably helps power sword sergeants. In fact I'd argue most of the SM chapter tactics give a better benefit to termies than what Deathwing get, which sucks because when I think of DA I think of terminators e.g. Black Templars for re-roll charges (after deep strike), Iron Hands for a little more survivability.

Didn't mean to be a rant, I just feel like I've missed something entirely that makes Deathwing stand out, and as much as I want to keep my termies as DA I'd hate to be using them below their full potential.

The only reason I can think of is rule of cool.

Seriously, the DA termies are amazing looking.

It's a common theme... Space Marine struggle across the board. Terminators of all flavors are the Pinnacle of this. They are just way too easy to deal with for their price point.

The only DW that are remotely competitive is the DW Knights, and even then, to reliably get them into combat, you need to take invest a lot into a land raider which is also a questionable choice currently.

I have a ton of DW, but until GW do something to make them an attractive choice (besides sexy looks), I'm running RW and Green wing.
