So this is something a bit silly but I think it has potential;

The idea being that you can actually boost your army by 800pts by turn two and that doesn't count the Blade of Dark Summons which could be used to grab one of the new good summonable night haunt units. There is also 200 more points you can grab by turn 4. None of that counts the extra models from Ghoul Patrol. After turn one you have 4 GK and with a lot of tournaments having you play in realm they will have a better chance at useful magic. This has the ability to swarm and allows you to overload a specific area. Also has some summoning flexibility with the GK on Terrogiest and the blade. If you really wanted to jack of all trade you could go this route;

Drop 10 ghouls from a 20-man (this turns into your backfield holding unit) and swap the infernal courtier for a vargeist and another ghast courtier (to help keep up the bigger ghoul squad). The vargiest would give you the ability to eventually join up with whatever two big units the GKoT decides to summon.

I am pretty much looking at the same list with the Vargheist swapped in and some endless spells in place of 10 ghouls. I doubt it is WAAC competitive but man is it sweet.

Yeah, thats an alternative I'd consider too. 10 less ghouls gets you a swap to a Vargulf and 90pts to spend on on another ghast courtier or endless spells.

Oh yeah, I also think the Light artefact that recycles command points would help this list a lot. Heck, even buying a command point for 50 might be worth it to place a 100 point ghoul unit whenever you want, that you might otherwise not have a chance to in a 5 round game.

I just don't like any of the other artifacts for the light stuff now that the lens got hammered. And I love the bow (extra chances at mortals since we're terrible at it) and the mortal resistance on the big guy both feel more important. Honestly even if I don't get 1 of the 4 units of ghouls in I've still likely summoned over 1k in free stuff because of the blade and the other summoning. I also built the list assuming one of my GK would go down before it got a chance to summon
