Hi Folks, first post here, I've lurked around for a long while, this forum has always been an invaluable resource for answering odd questions, and seems to have a great community.

So firstly, I apologise if there is another one of these types of threads, I did look but I haven't seen anything floating around, I just thought it would be a great way to see what everyone's been working on over the last few weeks in the run up to kill team. I've been amazed by some of the painting standards on here, some truly gifted hobbyists for sure, and I myself am no high level painter, quite the oposite in fact, but my pieces have improved massively over the last year so I figured now i'm well and truly knee deep in my 5th or so kill team I'd post some pics up and get some feedback, as well as give everyone a place to do the same. I've been having a lot of fun with these, a lot of them are kitbashes, at least to an extent from other kits like my Alpha legion for example, which are deathwatch marines from sprues I'd never gotten round to using, my plague marines are also mostly custom pieces made with bits. Same with most recent project, my black legion Kill Team which are heavily sons of horus themed, which I've aptly named my 'Cthonian Corsairs' haha
Anyway guys get posting, let's see what you've all got on the go.

My Cthonian Corsairs, sons of horus/black legion kill team, plus chaos cutists (death korps)

The kill team that exudes pious zeal like the pope..

The farsight massive..team name undecided on this one, 'Team Short sighted' is in the maybe pile though..
http://photobucket.com/gallery/user/Guyzor94/media/cGF0aDovMjAxODA3MjZfMjM0NDM3X3pwc2c5OWs1djJnLmpwZw==/?ref=1

And lastly, the kill team isn't finished but I've managed to get my Ork boss nob finished so here's my Ork team leader, a minorly converted AoS model, I really wanted a big brutish beast for the leader of this group, even if he still dies to a stiff breeze he looks cool lol

Anyway that's all from me guys, I'd love some feedback, and get posting your own Killteam projects up!

You can use [img]-tags to tell the forum software that this here url should be shown, or you can attach them to your post as separate files. Both work, though attachments are fiddlier to work with but stable as they're then on Dakka's servers.

Would it be possible to use the shadow war kill teams?

I have just bought a BA tac squad to make mine, would be cool if you could though

Guyzor1994, I'd recommend using either Dakka's excellent hosting services or another one, as Photobucket has been circling the drain for quite some time now and is anything but reliable and useful as it once was.

The pics that did load show off some nicely painted models, well done!

As for posting the pics in the topic itself, use the following tags:

And the result should be..

My own project will be one or more teams of Scions. I still have the old squad from the 7th edition Kill Team game, though they are a bit understaffed now due to an edition change and whatnot. These will be in line with the rest of my Scion army, the 41st Omega Banshees. I'm also awaiting the arrival of the Drop Force Imperator starter, so I can kitbash some spec-ops themed Scions using aftermarket parts from Anvil Industry and Statuesque Miniatures.

I'll be working on my Farsight Enclaves team who are sort of like Farsight's experimental black ops unit with all the sweet new toys.

I'm also keen on doing a trench warfare guard team, who look like they've been fighting for months/years, and are doing some behind enemy lines stuff to help out some sappers trying to screw over the enemy resource lines and such. Not overly sure how to do it yet though

ooo, ive been waiting for a thread like this to pop up, cant wait to see some of the unique teams people come up with.

Im gonna be going with a Sons of Horus themed primaris unit, Some of the traitor legion's genestock taken out of stasis by Cawl to assess how effective his memory "purging" technology is and whether the 8 legions worth of primaris marines that Roboute refuses to activate can be made operational...

current progress so far;

Yeah, linking from Instagram is possible, but it requires some fishing through the page code to get it:

Also, HOT DANG!

Yeah thats them, I love the two handed axe- looks as brutal as i expect the Sons of Horus were.

Also thanks- really struggling for motivation with the deathwatch, will admit they look a little better on a comp screen than in real life.

Painting starts on the SOH as soon as theyre done!

Trying to decide if im gonna use standard Scions or go straight for DKOK engineers for my AM kill team. I need the AM kill team box anyway so most likely ill do regulars first.

Painted up a pack of Space Wolf Reivers, pretty quick job, but wanted something for the tabletop.

And did a simple axe conversion on the pack leader.

Nice and simple, but very well executed, they look great.

On the subject of space wolves- How many of you guys would mind if a guy proxied a fenrisian wolf as a scout/scout sargeant with CC weapon? with the obvious concession of not being able to use any ranged weapons? I love the idea of running some hunting wolves up the board

I built a Necron Kill Team. I'm quite happy with how they came out; the painting was really fun as I got to experiment with rust effects and blood splatter. It's very difficult for me to leave miniatures alone without converting them, but I tried to keep the 'core' aspects of what made them what they are obvious. Let me know what you think!

Unpainted for the time being, but it was fun to do some minor converting / kitbashing again. Pictures taken with the glorious iPotato.

Tempestor Fox (Leader)

Scion Stryker (Veteran)

Scion Gunner Blaine (Heavy)

Scion Marshall (Comms)

Scion Medicae Payne (Medic)

All are mounted on 32mm bases, to denote their hero status, if there are going to be any scrubs extras they'll be on regular 28mm bases.

Heads are from the always awesome Statuesque Miniatures, while the PEQ's, holos, grip and suppressor are from Anvil Industry.

We've decided to somewhat wing it with squad building, tossing in one more specialist, along with some other minor home brew tweaks to make things a bit more epic and cool. Aside from the extra specialist the biggest no-no is giving the Tempestor a hellgun like the rest of her squad and having the knife strapped to her shoulder count as a power sword, but rule of cool is in full effect around here.
