Chaplain and Librarian Terminator stay in reserve with the Assault Terminators

Captain and lieutenant deploy with the devastators to give them reroll to hit and wound failed ones. Along with +1 AP on rolls of 6s to wound!

The 2 Plasma Cannon tactical squads go in the rhinos

The Veterans deploy with the remaining tactical squad on foot.

The Scouts form a screen for the Devs and footslogging tac squad. Able to use hellfire shells using CPs.

Wow okay where to start?

Let's see.... well off the bat you don't get 2 warlords. your warlord is your overall commander. you only ever get one (unless you're alpharius)

10 man tactical squads should almost never be seen. they're vulnerable to morale, and not in a great place anyway this edition? Combat squad your 10 man units; and put 2 of your combi-flamer and flamer squads in the rhino. maybe drop the company veterans and upgrade the second rhino to a razorback for your 3rd flamey combat squad? I mean why are they deploying with the tactical squads? their whole point is to take wounds for characters xD

feel free to DM me or get a thread rolling here? loving the boots on the ground; my ultramarines play the same style-ish?

you don't have a whole lotta long range firepower bro, and those tactical squad loadouts, while fluffy, are about the worst special&combi combo due to what 8th did to flamers (I know, I'm pissed too; my Reach&Macragge pushfits are starting a support group)

So even if you're taking 2 battalions you only get one warlord? ok.....well that#s easy to fix


10 man tacticals vulnerable to morale.....i'd have thought numbers would help when you don't have Primaris to soak up wounds.

Veterans are only in the list cause i had spare points and couldn't get an Apothecary. they can disappear.

The tacticals loadout is mainly down to Salamanders tactics...

I'm not sure why Salamanders for this list. An infantry-heavy list like this lends itself better to either Ravenguard or Ultramarines. Salamanders works better when using lots of small units with a single-shot heavy or special weapon.

E.g.
5 tactical marines inc. Lascannon for reliable, long range AT damage.
5 tactical marines inc. Meltagun for reliable, short range AT damage.

Same for scouts with missile launchers etc - basicallly Salamanders works best with small units containing AT weapons, whilst vehicles and the Standard bolsters are best for anti infantry (for which Razorbacks are second to none, and lend themselves to he small infantry squads)

With larger units, Ultramarines tend to be better so you can avoid getting tied up in combat (larger unit, easier to charge). Ravenguard and the -1 to hit is fairly self explainatory.

Salamanders for the reroll of one failed roll to hit.

I can see how Ultramarines are nice but i've never been a fan of the Smurfs.

It is a wound roll as well i thought for the salamanders. So re roll ones with a lieutenant and a single wound roll as well potentially.
