Basically it's an All-Comers list.

I have 50 infantry to hold objectives. 4+ save and ignoring the first wound allocated in each shooting/combat phase makes for decently sturdy cheap chaff.

I have a decent amount of shooty potential via the the fireglaives, standard bearer with ruby ring, and 4 warmachine, as well as the blood of hashut out of the Daemonsmiths and potentially fireball/arcane bolt/flames of azgorh in the magic phase.

I have the Burning skies ability to help counter flying mobility and the Soulsnare Shackles to further limit opposing mobility. I am rather lacking in mobility myself and have been toying with trading out the Deathshrieker with two units of 5 Furies to fly out and snag objectives while the dwarves advance but don't think they'd have the same impact as 4 shots at D3 damage that ignore line of sight can provide.

What do you think? List is as follows:

Leaders:
Drazhoath the Ashen
Infernal Guard Castellan (General, Grotesque, Armour of Bazherak the cruel)
Infernal Guard Battle Standard (Ruby Ring)
Daemonsmith
Daemonsmith

Battleline:
20x Infernal Guard Ironsworn
10x Infernal Guard Ironsworn
10x Infernal Guard Fireglaives
10x Infernal Guard Fireglaives

Artillery:
Magma Canon
Magma Canon
Deathshrieker Rocket

Behemoth:
Iron Daemon
[Drazhoath the Ashen]

Warscroll battalion:
Blackshard Warhost [+1 bravery, reroll 1s to hit, extra artefact, faster deployment, bonus CP]

Endless Spell:
Soulsnare Shackles [great at buying time for my artillery to do work]

Not a fan of Legion of Azgorh lists that doesn't have that sexy cav ( https://spikeybits.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/99020211001_BullCentaurExecutionHerd01.jpg ) in the list as well as the magma cannons which most people consider complete crap (for the points).

The Iron Daemons are vicious as well as the Deathshrieker Rockets (for the points), but I dont play Legion so you should probably ignore what I'm saying and listen to someone that's a bit more experienced!

Seems solid enough though!

For fun it looks great. For competitive purposes, the chaos dwarves in general struggle (i have a full army and have played it through two campaign seasons of AOS for reference).

The iron demon is subjective at best. The artillery is middling and does not do much right now. Your battleline also will not do much.

Overall its a list that has little bite and little lasting power when paired against a modern list.

I like the Blackshard Warhost if for nothing else than helping to choose to go first or second. Battalions are very handy for that, and the extra command point is certainly useful. I would recommend using 20 fireglaives over 20 ironsworn.

Don't think you'll need two daemonsmiths.

I used my Legion of Azgorh this past weekend in a 3 game event at 2000 pts. I ran 3x3 centaurs w Shartor, Drazhoath, Daemonsmith, dreadquake and deathshrieker...then balewind vortex, burning head, 3 tzeentch flamers w disc herald, and a plague priest.

Deathshrieker actually kinda sucks. Dreadquake kinda iffy but does decently when targeting a bigger unit. In my army I would've gladyly sacrificed the 2 artillery units for making a full Execution Herd, that would've been way way deadlier and awesome.

I like your having many more bodies, that cost me dearly in objective points.

Regarding mobility, I plan to make some Putrid Blightkings with Gutrot Spume to outflank and cause backfield disruptions. That's the best ally I can come up with right now for Azgorh…..though I also think if there's an ally that could move the enemy closer to you that would be good. Spiteshields want to be in combat and make some saves on a 6+!

Since you're not using the Hashut's Wrath Artillery Train, probably wouldn't bother with anything but Magma Cannons. Daemonsmith can march forth flanked by them and have at it.

For your artefact, say your army is from Aqshy (which they are!) and give either the Castellan or Daemonsmith the Firecloak so he can fly and be faster. Blood of Hashut works every turn now so the Daemonsmith could get in mortal wounds that way.

It's definitely gonna be an uphill battle, but Azgorh can still do well against medium tier armies. But I agree, they need their cavalry!

Gotta make me an Iron Daemon and Magma Cannons.....

Also, I think the prismatic palisade could be much more useful than the shackles. But that's theoretical.

One other thing to do with a BlackShard Warhost is just use them in a miscellaneous Chaos army, as Ironsworn are plain old Battleline, and decent at rend-1 plus spiteshields. Unpredictable Destruction with that trait to do +1 to the roll is solid.
