I was recently looking through various GW stuff and saw this:
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Grey-Knights-Preacher-with-Chainsword

Is it me, or does this look suspiciously like he is taking a selfie with a =][= shaped phone?
It got me thinking if there are other odd poses that could be interpreted as something GW didn't intent.
If you can think of any, please share

He's doing "the power of the Emperor compels you!" with his holy icon. Hopefully for him the daemons are appropriately cowed, otherwise that chainsword isn't going to help much …

I always thought this guy was playing Tetris (he's a badass Space Marine, so he can play it one-handed) instead of manning the thud gun or fixing the damaged land raider:

RT marines are all constipated. was playing a game last night and my opponents brother saw my squad and couldn't help laughing at their poses.

Its from the old Witch hunters codex back in the day, he has a symbol to keep the daemons at bay, i see nothing wrong it a 25+ year old models based off a priest repelling evil.

He's presenting it like one holds up a cross to drive away a Vampire.

The Sister Dialogus is one weird looking model, though. Between the two cybernetic eyes and the giant sprinkler-thing in her hand...

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Belial looks like he needs a wee due to his feet being twisted inward like this:

And of course the Diagolous (and her "shocked" face):

Arco-flaggelants look like they're overly dramatically bowing to their opponent:

Basically all the magic is in the old metal models.

Did those Flagalants just to the "Dab"?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I feel like a lot of these originated in the really bad sculpting period from GW...there have been some serrrious turds in the earlier 2000s. (looking at you Necromunda 2nd releases)

Grabbed a quick pic so people know what I'm talking about. Classic marines have this one pose where they look at their feet with their arms out wide.

"Oh Crap! A Gopher!"

You mean you never noticed ol' Velma from Scooby Doo hanging out in 40k before?

Man you need more Sisters players in your area.

As far as I know, my area has zero active SoB players, We have lots of knights, custodes, guard, nids, SM and Daemons. I'm virtually the only active Khorne player in my region as far as I can tell.

I was kidding, but yeah, that's why you didn't see her then. She's a Sisters model whose had a few different rules but lore wise she's basically loud and shouty in the name of the Emperor.

She was an Inquisitor Retinue model who moved over to the Sisters of Battle army.

Excellent thread. Keep them coming. If the official models are running thin you should upload personal modelling poses that went wrong

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

Technically a sisters unit that was pinched by the inquisition to fill out their retinue options, along with the hospitaller.

She's a mirror pose of this earlier DH model - https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Grey-Knights-Warrior-Acolyte

Man, I painted the hello out of both of those.
Love them to this day.

This guy always seemed a bit funny to me.

The first thing to come to mind for me is the "necrocyborg dowager with orb". It's a third party female necron lord with boob plate pulling a duckface while staring at an orb in its hand. I can only assume the orb is being used to somehow take a selfie.

I'll have to see if I can find a picture of a conversion I saw of an old Marine pilot sitting on a toilet.

I think GW and FW have bit of an issue with running poses.

1) Berzerkers - those are fairly whacky looking running guys

2) FW Kharn (dog cocking its leg for a pee)

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

I was wondering who would show their “not in the face” plasma Marine first. I think since it’s inception, most marine players have made one of him because ‘how can you not?’

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I wanted to be a little more tasteful about her face looking like she's "channeling the Emperor's Might".

Makes me wish I still had the pictures of my 3 armed CSM who had a Chainsword, Bolt Pistol and Bolter making him the most WYSIWYG model I've ever built.

Because some of us have sense of decency. It's a fething stupid conversion and it's not funny.

There, I said it.
