Hey there!

I promised my brother to paint his Ultramarines battle demi company (why you ask? I dont know either....).
As a Dark Angels player I don't know what colors work best . Since I am using an airbrush and dont like how GW Air colors behave I only use Vallejo Game Air or Model Air colors.

So my DA workflow is pretty simple: Dark green Basecoat, Dark green + Sick Green (50/50) zenital highlights, Sick Green spot highlights.
My brother want's a rather dark look, similar to my dark angels, so I would like to adapt my color scheme to the ultramarines color scheme - what colors would you choose for this?

I was thinking:

Basecoat:

Zenital Highlights:

Spot Highlights:

I don't have any blue colors yet, so there is no way of testing beforehand. Any advice is appreciated!

Would suggest the difference between Ultramarine and Electric blue is too much, check out "Magic blue" then leave the electric blue for fine edge highlights

Electric blue is also more of a turquoise. Istead, I used a 3:1 mix of VGC Ultramarine Blue and Andrea Blue (Andrea blue itself is too bright) from the model color line and thinned it down with airbrush thinner & flow improver for my Ultramarines airbrush highlights.

I didn't use a darker shade than UM blue because I preshaded with black/grey/white primer and used enamel washes for the lining, using a dark brown so they aren't as brightly blue as using a dark blue or black for panel lining. Edge highlights are VGC Wolf Grey. Whole army was painted in about 3 weeks this way
