I need a bit of a push to either buy the DA Veterans kit or just eBay a single figure.

I want at least 1 DA Vet to go with these guys:
Spoiler:
I was thinking of "demoting" that Tac Marine to just a bolter and give the combi-plasma to the robed Vet.

But single figs on eBay seem hit or miss. I want specific bits and the cheapest options (per model) usually involve getting more than 1.
At that rate, I could probably just get a complete box and get the bits I want.

So what Chapters other that DAs use robes often? I can think of the following possibilities:
-Guardians of the Covenant DA successor
-Fallen
-Black Templars

Including the DA Vet, that's only 4 and I'm not 100% on doing the BT as I already have one. Can anyone think of any other options? Or even some Chaos options?

Thanx

I used DA robes for certain chaos conversions, robes are epic. Usually tzeenchy chaos or sorcs because the chaos sorc outside the new thousand sun's suck and, like most of the chaos sculpts, old and crappy.

but for loyalist robe wearers, black templars do from time to time as do even ultra smurfs.

Just trying to decide if I should keep scouring eBay for a single robed Marine with the wargear/backpack I want or if I should just buy the box of 5 and go to town.

Aside from Crimson Fists and Black Templars (who both have some rules) I don't do successor chapters for my Marine collection. So while Guardians of the Covenant are an obvious choice for a robed Marine (and they do look cool), I'm not sold on them either.
And Templars don't really have full robes, but more like a front tabard the goes over their chest.

Man, this is a hard choice. I think it will probably come down to whether my LGS has it on the shelf as an impulse buy or it I can find just the right single model on eBay.

If I do get the kit, I'll likely just do the DA Vet, Guardians of the Covenant and 1 Fallen.
Then just sell the rest of the bitz.

I think most marines wear robes, but very rarely into battle unless DA or one of their successors or a librarian. Yep, BT are all about tabards rather than robes (as any of their aficionados are always quick to point out).T

o be fair, there are quite a lot of cool bits in that kit that aren't specifically DA an you can probably swap or sell the ones that are if you don't have a use for them.

So if I get the box to make a DA Vet, Guardian of the Covenant and Fallen, what should their loadouts be?

For the DA Vet, I want the backpack with the sword and candles, combi-plasma and possible combat shield.
As the GofC is a successor, I'll probably just go with a Bolter as that is how my Black Templar and Crimson Fist models are equipped.
But how should I equip the Fallen Marine? Bolt Pistol/Chainsword seems like a maybe, but also kinda overdone for my Chaos Marines.

Suggestions?
