Note: This is Pre-CA 2018***

Welcome to the first, of hopefully many Table in the Basement Gaming Battle Reports
Trying to get back into the battle report scene after an extended departure. I've got a game upcoming between a friend and I at 2k points. He asked once I got to the table not to take pictures....accordingly I complied with his request. I'll write narratively instead.

Pregame
Spoiler:

Deployment: Hammer and Anvil
Mission: Malestorm mission, draw 3, discard 1 a turn

We deploy our armies. Seeing the Dragoons and Electropriests going into deep strike, I deny my backfield, and spaghetti line my warriors all over the backfield. Wraiths toe the edge of my deployment zone, and scarabs screen my immortals who are deployed tightly around my OL. This way, if he DOES infiltrate his army, he will be charging wraiths, or scarabs, neither of which mind too much. I place my destroyers in deep strike.
(Note for later) Like an idiot, I leave ALL my heavy destroyers in my carrying case, effectively handicapping myself 171 points.

His army camps into the corner with excellent lines of sight, Cawl providing rerolls to all robots, destroyers, and dunecrawlers. His infantry deploy in cover across, and to deny any deep strikes.

Necrons get the +1 to go first
We roll once...we tie
We roll twice...we tie
We roll three times...we tie
We roll a 4th time, and I finally roll a 6. He also rolls a 6, meaning Necrons have the initiative. AdMech does not seize.

In response, his dragoons deploy far back in his deployment zone. His electropriests deploy for counter assault in cover, protected by their Shroud Psalm Canticles.

Necrons Turn 1
Spoiler:

Movement
"Advance! Claim my spoils!" Grates Overlord Xerxius
Accordingly, the army glides and stomps forward at best speed. Scarabs taking the right flank, making a b-line for the Kastellan Robots, having recognized them as a primary threat.
The wraiths advance forward 18 inches, looking to provide a distraction, behind them, tomb blades spiral. Meanwhile, Xerxius, his cryptek, and his phalanx of battle hardened warriors walk forwards.
The Destroyer Lord activates his veil of darkness, and brings himself and the destroyers into cover at midfield overlooking the Kastellans.

Shooting Phase

The flood gates open, releasing lightning and gauss into the shrouded
The Tomb Blades Open fire, plinking wounds off of Electropriests.
Destroyers, supported by their lord, activate their extermination protocols, and begin scouring the Kastellans, destroying 2 of them outright, and badly damaging a third. A destroyer is destroyed in kind from deflecting gauss bolts from their sophisticated shields.
The Necron Infantry open fire, killing a small squad of skitarii rangers, and one of the kataphron destroyers.

Assault Phase

The anti-gravity fields on the wraiths glow bright and angry green, as they fly supernaturally into a squad of Skitarii Vanguard, tearing them apart in melee, and consolidating into a second squad.
The destroyer lord makes a long change into an infantry squad, killing 2, and they hold in combat.

Analysis
Not a bad start, though I was hoping for more damage on the Robots however, but thats what the heavy destroyers i totally forgot about were for. Womp womp.

AdMech Turn 1
Spoiler:

Movement
Electropriest crackle with power, and move forward alongside the Dragoons, whose taser lances gleam in the dusty air, banners fluttering proudly.
The screening infantry, my reinforcements deployed, move forward into optimal rapid fire range, Their shrouding canticles, and canticles to reroll 1s in shooting deployed. Datasmiths and Cawl quickly repair any damage to the injured Kastellan Robot. The robots whirl, click and dig their feet in, their phosphor blasters screeching as they prepare to unleash hell. (Switched into double tap stance)
The Admech infantry fall back from my wraiths.

Shooting
"Show them the wrath of Mars" bleets Cawl in binary.
The Kastellans comply, and unleash a wave of phosphorous fire into the wraiths, mauling them badly, dropping 3 of the 6, and wounding another.
The infantry contribute against the destroyers, killing another with plasma fire against them in cover, before the Dunecrawlers open fire, leaving 2 alive, their Neutron lasers blasting their bodies apart into slag.
Infantry and Destroyers scatter some damage into my scarabs, I lose a handful of warriors.
His snipers fire on Xerxius, one failing to wound his superior form, the other blasting a hunk off his pauldron. It rapidly begins healing as he regards it.

Assault Phase
The Admech charge a vanguard squad into melee with the wraiths, alongside the electropriests, and the dragoons. In an effort to supercharge the priests, he attempts to soften them up with the dragoons using their charge stratagem. Unfortunately, swinging first, the dragoons kill the target with excellent rolling, and exceptionally poor saves, leaving the priests open. The dragoons consolidate towards my infantry.

Thoughts
Also not a bad turn, my destroyers are pretty badly damaged, and my wraiths are unfortunately dead.

Necrons Turn 2
Spoiler:

Movement
My scarabs move up on the right to ensure an assault on his screen with the destroyer lord.
My destroyers reanimate 2 of their number, bringing them back to 3.
My tomb blades move backwards to safety away from dragoons.
My infantry move up to midfield, my warriors are screening the immortals, and sitting spread across 3 objectives.
"Bodyguards, enforce my will, scour away these obstacles"
The immortals grate a monotone reply
"Your will be done my lord"
In the phalanx, i ensure my overlord and cryptek are out of LOS of the snipers.

Shooting
The destroyers continue their extermination protocols, firing again on the Kastellans. Having shifted their power from shields to weapons, they fall prey to the Gauss Cannons, one of them exploding, and another toppling over dead, leaving the unit as wreckage.
The destroyer lord eyes a datasmith, shooting a wound off him with his staff.

The tomb blades open fire on the electropriests, killing them at close range outside of cover, they are finished off by a squad of immortals with my will be done, who split their fire into the destroyers, causing some damage.
The second squad pours fire into the destroyers, leaving 1 alive.
The warriors fire on the dragoons, causing 2 wounds, they dispassionately await the likely oncoming charge.

Assault Phase
The destroyer lord charges into a datasmith, the datasmith lives, and causes no damage back.

Analysis
I have a feeling my destroyers are not long for this world. But with my warriors in place, I am swimming in victory points currently (score 6 to 1). My opponent has been boxed in, and has 1 squad of troops left.

AdMech Turn 2
Spoiler:

Movement
His dragoons get danger close to my warrior screen.
His datasmith falls back, and his dunecrawlers shuffle to get line of sight on my destroyers, destroyer lord and tomb blades. He gets the canticle for reroll 1s to hit, and shroudpsalm.
He fixes his wounded destroyer.

Shooting
His dunecrawlers send the destroyers to hell in a hurry, Icarus array blasting apart the masonry protecting them.
Cawl kills my scarabs in shooting.
A dunecrawler, now close to my destroyer lord, tags him with a Neutron Laser, one of which slips through, doing 5 damage.
His final dunecrawler shoots up my tomb blades, alongside his infantry, reducing them by half.

Assault
His dragoons wade through a storm of gauss flayers, and make it into assault, pulverizing 10 warriors.
They don't care, the presence of their overlord so close by rendering their survival instincts overridden.

Analysis
He's getting thin too. If I can kill his last Kataphron, and his dragoons, that's game.

Necrons Turn 3
Spoiler:

The warriors regain 2/3 of their losses due to the cryptek remolding their forms, and return to position a few inches away.
The immortals both receive my will be done once again.
The Overlord moves close to the Dragoons with the immortals.
The destroyer lord hugs his datasmith, healing a wound
Tomb blades move to fire on the remaining Kataphron.

Shooting phase
The immortals all fire, along with the cryptek at point blank, Their overlord's will compensating for the obscuring incense protecting them, leaving 1 alive, damaged.
The tomb blades fire on the Kataphron, killing it.

Assault Phase
The destroyer lord kills the datasmith before he can be power-fisted to death.
The Overlord charges in, along with all 20 immortals. They pull down the dragoon before he can strike back, and consolidate forward.

Analysis
Not bad, not bad, i've got a commanding points lead, and my phalanx is in range of his whole army, and completely intact.

AdMech Turn 3
Spoiler:

Everything shuffles, moving to get he tomb blades and destroyer lord in sight
Cawl moves to get behind a friendly unit.

Shooting Phase
His dunecrawlers murder the tomb blades with an icarus array, and kill the destroyer lord with neutron laser fire. Stubbers kill a pair of warriors.
His remaining robot fires on an immortal squad, cutting them down to 2 models in cover.

Assault Phase
None
Analysis
Well, here we go

Necrons Turn 4
Spoiler:

Movement
The warriors return to full strength, the immortals go back to 6 models. The whole brick moves forward being the sum total of my army.
I use my final command point on Phaeron's will and buff both immortal squads
Shooting Phase
The immortals all fire on the Kastellan, and blow it up in a lovely fireball hitting his dunecrawlers and Cawl.
The warriors fire on his remaining vanguard with the transonic snipers, and kill them at close range.

Assault Phase
None

Analysis
At this point my opponent conceeds, having cawl and 3 dunecrawlers remaining, and down 11 to 4 in points.

Major Necron Victory!

AdMech Turn 4
Spoiler:

End Game Thoughts
Spoiler:

Whew** Immortal Pride Kept my troops alive and kept me from getting tabled...but having 3 heavy destroyers would have been a godsend if i'd remembered to actually take them out. Still, having shroudpsalm everywhere, almost every turn was brutal, his canticles were good. Thankfully, i was able to badly neuter the dakkabots before they could tear me to pieces. Not giving the Neutron Dunecrawlers a good target meant they were at the bottom of my priority list, and that worked out well.
