Hello everyone!
How do you write an about-me?!

I'm about the noobiest of noobs going, 37 years old and just started getting into Warhammer 40,000 with a close friend. I'm a father of four and live on the Isle of Wight (South England) with my fiancee and three of my kids (the eldest, 13, living with her mum.) I like music, movies and games - at the moment I am glued to Ultimate Apocalypse, which is a mod for Dawn of War. However, with four children I don't get too much time to myself.
I was a care worker for 12 years but I developed osteoarthritis of the spine and had a 6 hr operation last year that has helped a lot, but left me extremely limited on what I can do. Still, it's better than it was!
I have a lot of pets - five ferrets, three cats, two rats and a dog! Which is absolute MAYHEM!

I liked Citadel when I was a kid, but only really played Space Hulk.

I am wanting to use Chaos Space Marines, as I love the units and the whole daemonic side of things, being a bit of an occultist myself!
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

G'day weasel, welcome to Dakka. Sounds like you've been though a bit of a rough time lately, hope you're doing alright.
Chaos is a great place to start! Are you more interested in the gaming or painting/modelling side of things? Or equally excited about both?!

Been Around the Block

Hey bud, same age as me... When I got back into wh40k, I made a point of scouring ebay, preloved, gumtree etc for older metal minis, the sort I remembered from yesteryear.

I then took my time and painted them as best I could, remembering my poor efforts the first time round. I then bulk things up with standard, modern minis. Works nicely, and I have some really characterful leaders.

Perhaps that's helped a bit?
