Fun fact: These are min squad size of 10, and increments of 10.

Why did they pick a nonsense number for the soul wars kit? I will forever have useless Grimghasts unless i go to ebay and start buying them 1 at a time.

The frustrates!

How many extra are we talking about? Can't you just trade/buy the grimghasts from someone else who got soul wars but just wants the stormcast stuff?

If soul wars has them in anything other than increments of 5 or 10, use the leftovers to make some cool conversion or something.

Because outside of Matched Play, a unit of Grimghast Reaper can have any number of models.

GW is still trying to push that matched play isn't the only way to play. Even though it is the only way to play for 99% of the player population.

Buy the Grimghast Reapers box. Convert 4 of those with chains to be Changhasts (which are fielded in increments of 2) , replace with the 4 reapers from Soul Wars.

Another bs move by the “new and improved” GW.

A total FU to the player.

At least the box comes with squads of 10.

Hard to believe soul wars only comes with 4...in order to come out with the correct number you'd have to buy the box 5 times! Then you'd have 2 massive night haunt and sig marine armies!

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Should have been five, methinks.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Yep... but instead you get five of the guys who come in fours, and four of the guys who come in fives.

You could, in theory, get two more sets of 4 reapers, toss the extra bells and wind up with 10. But it's a really unfortunate model count they did.

Hey, it's unfortunate, but it's a starter set, and it's pretty darn unlikely you're going to be able to give matched play minimum sized units for everything, and keep any kind of variety to keep the set interesting (and affordable).

For what it's worth, there's another 'error' in the Nighthaunt part of the set - you get 5 Glaivewraith Stalkers....but the unit size is 4 in the Battletome...

I just got the NH half twice (it's amazing value for money anyway) and managed to get 4 from somebody else (mostly due to the same reason).

So I have 12 from the SW box with 2 extra champion models. So the remaining boxes of 10 are all assembled as normal troops. I now have the option to make 3 units of 10 with champions or one big blob of 30.

It really isn't the end of the world in the end that it's not a full squad in there.

The boy, I say, the boy is as sharp as a sack of wet mice...
