I’m surprised there wasn’t one already
Though the warhammer 40k fan base and hardcore Pokémon fan base doesn’t seem like they’ll be that much overlap I’m also new to this forum,l

So here you can discuss anything related to pokemon the games that overrated app .manga or anime or TTG?

Which app, Go or Quest? Go has been fun, quest I'm sort of on the fence about it's a good time killer basically. I just let every mission complete on auto.

I got my first smartphone about 2 years ago (I know, I lived in the Stone Age) right before a cross-country relocation. My friend convinced me to install Pokemon Go and those first few pokemon, location tagged for my hometown are still in my inventory. They're a small digital reminder of home, sappy as that sounds.

So. What’s your favorite Pokémon?

I've always been a fan of Lapras.

I played Red in middle school when it came out, so I'm basically in the nostalgia target audience for collecting the pokemon I could never catch (Alakazam, etc).

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Kabutops, you heathens.

I've been toying with the idea of starting a Nuzlocke run on Silver. We'll see if that actually pans out!

I made one of those silly meme chart things for all my faves.

I suppose Honchkrow is my top favorite. Wizard Gangster Odin with Super Luck + Scope Lens is a lot of fun, and way back in PBR his attack animation was imitate firing two Tommy guns which was just hilarious.

This is where I point out that Gengar is alone as the only Gen 1 Pokemon to never fall from the OU tier of competitive play, a real testament to his awesomeness. His Mega-Evolution is so strong it got banned to Uber XD

Not true; he dropped to UU in Gen 7 when they robbed him of Levitate.

As for favourite 'mon, it used to be Kabutops, but he's since been demoted in favour of Camerupt. All hail the derpy camel!

New line of question: what's the hardest battles you've had? Mine's Primal Kyogre when I ran a mono-fire playthrough of Alpha Sapphire, followed by Ultra Necrozma vs. my mono-ice team in Ultra Sun.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

I never did any monotype runs but now I kind of wish I had.

I still remember the Battle against the Rival in Red and Blue. I was pretty young in Gen 1 and that first run of the Elite 4 was pretty brutal. I needed something like a dozen tries to finally get through it.

I'm running runs with monotypes and bad Pokémon when I feel like replaying stuff (and we're talking Ledian levels of bad, not "bad" like something like non-mega Kangaskhan or Ursaring or stuff).

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Gengar is awesome. I play the Gold/Silver remakes a lot, so most of my favourites are from the first 2 gens. Espeon and Alakazam are favourites, as is Houndoom.

Ah hell, I'm going to have to dig my DS out again, arent I?

The best pokemon is Cubone:

It is sooo cute!!!

As a kid, my favourite pokemon was Giratina, because it is the biggest, baddest pokemon around and it has different forms and it looks totally cool and it is super powerful and comes from a different dimension. I loved Pokemon Platinum.

Hardest fight I ever had was probably the rival fight on the way to meet Bill on my first run, trying to get Meet so without using the Master Ball in my first ever run, or Start a in my first run.

Really once you beat a Pokemon game, it just gets easier and easier from there.

Not when you handicap yourself by bringing the lowest of the low it doesn't.

Still having nightmares about Ledian though. MAN is that little critter weak.

I tried using Ledian in Soul Silver. It was astounding how little damage Mach Punch did against even the most basic Normal types.

Hardest fights, hmm...
Ghetsis was unexpected, and his Hydreigon was brutal. I had to hide behind Gigalith's Sturdy ability just waiting for that dragon to run out of attacks.

Cynthia starts off with Spiritomb that just absorbs your moves and finishes with Garchomp who crushes your worn-out team, and in the middle of that you got to deal with Lucario and Milotic.

Stadium could be challenging since it took away potions and the ability to switch your Pokemon after defeating an opponent, combined with the odd team rules. Also, sucky rental Mons if you didn't have that gamepack or didn't have a team trained yet. Also, Mewtwo! You'd think having six Pokemon against just one would be easy....
(also also, this was way back before useful online guides or even the game itself telling you what anything did)

The Gamecube games were a different kind of challenge, where you had to fight bosses while capturing their "Shadow" Pokemon. The final boss' entire team was catch-able, half of which were Legendaries! On top of that there was the whole "Shadow" mechanic, which effectively meant your team would be underleveled or constantly taking super-effective hits --- naturally it was better to keep a mix, but if you were over-eager in purifying your Mons you could get royally screwed.

I'll second Stadium. So many of the move sets in the first game in particular made no damn sense, and really crippled your choices.

Oh that's fun.

Well Alpharius would clearly have a Hydreigon who is actually a Dugtrio who is actually a Dotrio.

Dorn would be a Forretress (bonus points for being punny)

Zoroark for Leman Russ.
