In a couple of days I have a game planned against a couple of guys from the FLGS. They're attending a doubles tournament soon and would like some practice. While I would consider myself pretty good I've never played at that level of competitiveness before so would appreciate some help putting a list together to take them on.

Rules:
- 2k
- Limit of 2x Detachments each (so 4 for me)
- Limit of 2x Datasheets each (again, so 4 for me)

I have some nasty units at my disposal:

Knights:
- Castellan
- Errant
- Gallant
- Warden

Custodes
- 6x Jetbikes
- 15x Custodes
- 2x Captains
- 1x Telemon Dreadnought

Guard
- Standard Battalion
- Manticore
- 4x Leman Russ
- Valdor Tank Hunter

Marines
- 3x Tactical Squads w. Lascannon + Plasma
- 10x Intercessors
- 10x Reivers
- 10x Hellblasters
- 5x Terminators
- Lias Issodon
- Various Characters
- Leviathan Dreadnought w. 2x Storm Cannons
- Fire Raptor

I'm thinking the Guard CP Battalion with the Castellan as a Freeblade (or Raven?), and the standard Hellblaster/Ancient/Lias/Lieutenant combination.

I would go for custodians rather than marines. Castellan(raven), guard CP battallion, 2 bike custodian captains, some other HQ since max 2 datasheets. Depending on points warden+gallant.

That would be where I would be going if I were to cheese out.

Marines are weak choice

Both custodes and ik require am to act as a battery to function but are not entirely conplementary as they both burn CP

as a more inexperienced player you are better off favouring knights because they have a higher luck gradiant.

Which is why bike captains(plus one more for tax) is what I would limit from custodians. That limits their CP hungryness while providing fast durable h2h hitters.

So just going through some quick maths I think the standard loadout should be:

1x Castellan w. Ion Bulwark and Cawl's Wrath
1x Gallant
1x Errant
1x Guard CP Battation
2x Jetbike Captain
1x Custodian Captain on foot (mainly just to get the +1CP)

I think that comes to roughly 1970. If I have enough leftover I may chuck a few Flamers in my Guard squads, but that's mainly for personal preference.

Edit: Just putting it together and with a Warden instead of an Errant it comes to a nice 1991 points and a lovely 13CP once you deduct the Knight Warlord and Relic CP.
