I hate to say it.. but I've fallen out with Magic: The Gathering.
Well, maybe 'fallen out with' is a bit harsh. Maybe 'burnt out on' is more appropriate. I think it's time to try a new game or two, at least for a while.
Obviously Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh are the other big two, but neither particularly appeal to me. I quite liked the look of Netrunner, but from what I hear it's dead.
What other collectable card games would you guys recommend?

Depends on the area. outside of yugioh i dont think anyone plays any other type of card games besides magic. at least locally for me for the past like 20 years.
i think there was some strange anime fan Japanese card game getting popular with the kids but it may not be your taste.
you could always get into hearth stone. not as physical but you can play it on the crapper on your phone almost anywhere.

I'm looking forward to this- and if you're seeking a palate cleanser for MTG, this should fit the bill. There is no metagame, and no uber cards to chase- all is random. So buy two or three decks, and throw down with your friends like its always a draft tournament.

Orkeosaurus, on homophobia, the nature of homosexuality, and the greatness of George Takei.
English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleyways and mugs them for loose grammar.

Sold!
Keyforge looks pretty cool. I'll read up on it a bit more, but I might need to check this one out.

There's also Age of Sigmar Champions which has a physical and digital side to it - any physical card you buy you can scan to own it in your digital account.
https://www.warhammerchampions.com
The physical cards are out now whilst the digital platform is going through an open beta (the website still has an enter your email thing so you can sign up and get right into it).

Dude, try Dragon Ball Super Card Game!
I've written a bit about in another thread and plan to write more! It's a fun game and very easy to play. Every game I've played has come down to the wire with either player being just a hairsbreadth away from winning. There are lots of different ways to play and if nothing else the cards look sweet as hell!
Try it out, any game shop should have some promo decks to give away if they've got it in stock. A friend and I bought a couple starter decks and they include everything you need to play. Unlike MtG the decks are pretty good and contain unique cards, so they're worth it even after you get a decent collection.

My friend actually plays the Dragon Ball card game, but it doesn't really appeal to me. Maybe because I have no idea about anything in the franchise. I've never seen a single episode. Would that effect my enjoyment at all do you think?
It seems to be building a following at my LGS, but it does seem to all be pre-existing fans of the Dragon Ball franchise.
Age of Sigmar Champions might be worth checking out!
