First off, I’d like to congratulate myself for winning the US/NA Politics thread by virtue of having the last word. I wish I’d known ahead, I would have put more effort in, but there’s proof that a gak post can carry the day.

More to the point, I support the decision. I’m glad that this environment is focused on a communal joy of games rather than a cess pit of useless poop flinging. I participated in those threads, because they were there, but I am genuinely grateful for their departure.

I imagine it was not an easy decision to create a concensus on... though maybe it was given the amount of crap it generated. Anyhow, I again issue my support for the decision and wish all parties the best at finding other places to fling poop at each other.

Politics right now is extremely divisive especially right now. While I agree closing them might be a good thing. IT let everyone lay out as clearly everyone is concerned about it and wants to discuss it. Though we did have quite a few horrible things said in those threads so maybe there was a great reason as to why to close them.

Thanks for the sentiment although it is only as Asherian Command says, because things are so "extremely divisive" right now. We do plan to keep this for the long run, though, as it's what we envision Dakka to be.

I'm going to lock this thread, as we want to allow other discussion to begin to be the norm in OT, and of course a thread in OT talking about not talking about Politics is kind of the same thing
