I already have assembled about 20 orcs years ago from when I played War of the Rings, and I cannot tell if they are Morannon or Mordor.

Here's some pics:

If these are Morannon, I won't have to assemble the whole starter, which will get my friends introduce to the game faster.

I know this is a base question at best, but I cannot open my starter until tomorrow and I'd like to start thinking lists.

Thanks everyone.

They're regular Mordor Orcs. The Morannon Orcs have distinctive sharp layered jagged plate armour and a bit more of a 'uniform' aesthetic. The regular Mordor Orcs are far more of a random bunch.

Thank you.

I flipped through the army book at my FLGS and did not see any point list or entry for Mordor orcs. Should I tuck them in the closet or are they still valid?

last noob question for now :-)

They're absolutely still valid. Mordor Orcs are still a profile, and you can use those models as generic Orcs for any of the evil factions - even Isengard if you want. Just paint some white hands on the helmets/shields. So they're not going anywhere! Are you referring to the new Armies book with the re-release of SBG? Or an older book? These guys are the basic infantry of Mordor and have been given a re-skinned box as part of the re-release so they definitely will have a profile. Perhaps you're looking in the wrong place? I don't get my copy of the new Armies book until tomorrow so can't direct you.

Mordor Orcs are listed under the Barad Dur army list I believe, but theyre still perfectly legal in a Mordor list.
