When building a Death Korps of Krieg list, I can use the leman russ datasheet in the Astra Militarum codex within the same detachment right? I'm not limited to using the Mars pattern entry in the DKoK index?

Page 55 of Imperial Armour Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum (plus the additions in the FAQ) tells you which Astra Militarum datasheets can be used by the Death Korps of Krieg. It also tells you that Astra Militarum units that aren't on that list cannot be from the Death Korps of Krieg.

The Leman Russ datasheet from Codex: Astra Militarum isn't in that list, so no, you can't.

Yup, that'd be a legal ASTRA MILTARUM Detachment. Your Leman Russes from Codex: Astra Militarum just wouldn't gain a Regimental Doctrine. Unless you only want say one or two of them, though, I'd suggest just putting them in their own Spearhead Detachment with the same <REGIMENT> keyword alongside your Death Korps of Krieg.
