Hey y'all,

I'm putting together a unit of Imperial Guard Rough Riders, and already have a few Raging Heroes' Toughest Girls in the Galaxy bikers - these figures. They're pretty sweet, but I only have three. I have one old space marine scout on a motorbike, but he looks all chunky, old, and weird alongside these newer sleeker models.

Any recommendations on cool, militaristic (rather than post apocalyptic), motorbike riders? Doesn't have to be women, I'll take male riders, even weird beastmen too! Thanks in advance.

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Wyrd's upcoming Abysissian Motorcycles look great and you can get Warzone Resurrection bikes pretty damn cheap right now.

For a built-for-40k look I'd advise Puppet's War https://puppetswar.eu/search.php?search_query=bike&submit_search=Search

They are meant for space marines, but Old Marines and Cadians are the same size anyway.

Infinity has a whole bunch of different ones scattered through the line, pretty much every faction but Pan-O has them. That said, they tend to be a bit less large and chunky than those, and not really showing any guns.

EDIT: apparently less than I thought:
Mavericks and Desparados plus some mercs not out yet for Ariadna.
All the different Kum Riders for Haqqislam.
Penthesilea and her alternate version for aleph, though Probots may be close enough.
And then there's the non/aligned/Mercs with Bounty Hunters and Yojimbo. There's also Arigato for JSA, but they don't appear to be showing up on the webstore for some reason. Those also have a couple special characters in army packs, but didn't link them because really, I doubt you're gonna buy 7 guys for a game you don't play for $80 for the one you do want (though see the split thread down in the Infinity section if you really want the one gal...)

Holy moly, those Infinity motorbikes are rad! Thanks for tipping me off, I'm gonna get a few.

Hard to tell from the Infinity store page, but are there options for building them, or are they pretty much set as you see them in the photos?

Wow, jumped. No, they're metal models, they pretty much just build like the photos. I think the Kum may have a common torso with pick-an-arm-set but I don't own them so thats just a guess based on other Infinity sets.

As noted earlier, Infinity!

The JSA has some new Aragoto Senkenbutai:

And the older ones are pretty ace too:

That'd be why the aragoto weren't on the webstore.
New models replacing the older box of 2 ^^ that one.

You can probably still find the older ones on eBay or on various other online Gameshops too though.

One last question on the Infinity bikes: do you have to build them as they're shown in the pictures? A lot of the guys are stopped and firing behind them. I'd prefer to model them in action (i.e., riding their bikes at high speed), or at least shooting forward.

Not that big of a deal (I'm getting a few Kum Riders for the Haqislam faction for sure, damn cool models!), but just curious

The older ones, pretty much. The new ones, I don't know how many pieces they come in yet.

The bikes are mostly one piece (separate throttle grip and footpegs) and the biker body/head/legs is one piece with separate arms. One of which is grasping the a handgrip, the other will be brandishing a weapon OR doing the "ooh, cool colours" hacking gesture.

I suppose if you mixed and matched the original box you could get one rider with both hands on the controls - but yeah, apart from conversion work, it's a "this is how they are" thing that metal models have.

Where can you buy these motorbikes!?

They're damn hard to find!

I ordered one Infinity bike at my FLGS, but they couldn't get the Kum Riders (wha?!). I got those guys on Amazon (last box... Sorry!)

The puppets war bikers I got directly from their webstore. They don't have any distributors - I think they're maybe kinda small, so they just sell right from their site.

The Toughest Girls in the Galaxy, I got through kickstarter. I reckon you'd have to go to their website, but don't really know

In the USA, the main distributors are known for being slack about ordering infinity products.

I think it was Alliance distribution. It's their established pattern of behaviour.

Huh!

I've heard that CB is rather slack when it comes to supplying product to their USA based distributors.

I have just about all bikes from infinity; mostly, the ariadna and kum and I've even done some bike swaps, mostly works ok but a few don't swap well. My roomate has all the JSA bikes.

Warzone: can't really get anymore but you may find them on ebay, I really like d the hussars, wish I had money before they dropped the line, some really good looking models.

I have significant models for both ravenwing and ork bikes from 40k. Orks are better.

Mantic has some nice jetbikes, as well as the costodiers from 40k but I don't have any.

I've seen a few good looking quads for modern models but I haven't gotten any to have a real opinion.

I think the motorcycles from puppetswar.eu has some good looking bikes but haven't gotten any yet, I haven't been playing 40k which they would work best for I think.

I have a set of the Puppetswar Light Bikers and they're far better than the GW scout bikers.

I keep wanting to get the other bikers for my Blood Angels, but I think I'm gonna go with Legion Outriders from FW instead.

Just love that Mk IV armor!

All of the motorcycles from Infinity are definitely cool. It doesn't hurt that their studio models were painted by Angel Giraldez.

Aw man, I *just* saw those... I might have to spring for a few. LOL. Maybe I'll have to try out an all-rough-rider army soon?

As a heads up, you could maybe consider the upcoming Genestealer Cult motorcyclists:
