Sounds like a stupid question but since you're supposed to be able to fit two SB and a HKM on a Rhino, I was wondering how you were officially and aesthetically supposed to accomplish this with the Rhino kit? I'm trying to find pics but none have all this gear on the same wehicle or it looks a bit too custom and goofy like this solution: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OduR_wvh-CM/UGxxLb1BUHI/AAAAAAAAAwM/ZH44IC3eDww/s1600/IMG_1746%5B1%5D.JPG

The normal solution, as I recall was to find a second pintle hatch, or filtch the pintle post from somebody's russ kit. The older one from the 1st gen rhino kit was, as I recall, bolters pegged to the hull corners. HK missile could be added using the old IG rail style missile, mouned on top the track guards or by doing some fancier thing like mounting the tube style one (or a spare missile launcher) VLS style beside the rear hatch, or some other simar thing, or even just have a crew marine shooting it out an open driver's hatch...

Fit them retro Rhino style!

Have the driver sticking up out of the hatch with a SB in each hand. Use the other hatch for the HK.

Or put a SB on each of the hatches, and the HK on a back corner or something.

Yeah that's what I'm doing it just feels ugly to have the missile sticking out of the hull like that.

If you have spare ML bits from a dev/tac squad you could have the driver sticking up out of the hatch with it on his shoulder, and a pintle mount SB on the hatch ring. Mount the other SB on the other hatch.

I kinda want to build this now.

Do you reckon the marine with ML will fit in the SB hatch?
Post a pic if you do it ^^

Related question, do you glue these options straigt away or do you have a clean way to magnetize them to switch em at will?

Quick mock-up held together with sticky-tack.

Looks viable.

I don’t glue hatches on. Generally they stay put for games. And by not glueing them down I can swap things like storm bolters, MMs, and Sgt. Chronos around as needed.

Quick followup to this. While cleaning the mold lines off that hatch gunner and grabbing some extra parts the the bitz box, I had a “Duh” moment. Both the HK and the SB are comparable with both the turret ring mount and the hatch mount. You don’t need the guy sticking out of the hatch if you don’t want him.

You could in theory make a 2xSB hatch this way.

Edit:

For me, I attach the missle on the sloped section near the rear hatch. I like to think of the HK missile as a fire-and-forget seeker missile, kind of like the Tau version, with targeters inside the Rhino guiding it to the target. I like using the Ironclad Dreadnought HK missile for this but any missile will do fine really.

While not terribly attractive looking stormbolters, the terrain container sprue from GW features two stormbolters on pintle mounts with each container --- easy and cheap way to allow mounting a bunch of storm bolters.
