Our group got into a bit of an argument over this. I want to see if there is a clarification I missed somewhere, and if you guys know it.

The Toxin rule FAQ says it replaces the Wound roll with the Toughness check. Wound rolls come before Armor saves.

So the rule as written (and FAQ'ed) seems to be Hit your opponent, pass the Toughness check, and regardless of Armor or Wounds, target suffers injury effects.

That seems pretty damn overpowered to me. Am I missing something?

Still need to perform Armor Save for Toxin.

Yeah this has been a topic for discussion since launch! First it got very poor rules, then super powerful because they forgot to clarify armour saves. Now we got it in writing (Leader's accessory pack, August) that Toxin does not ignore Armour save.

It's still unclear what happens if a fighter with multiple wounds gets a flesh wound after being seriously injurede by toxin. It seems that the fighter does not lose any wounds by the toxin attack, so could potentially return with a flesh wound and not losing wounds by the toxin attack (similar to being hit by a rad phage attack).

Why is that unclear? The model enters the Seriously Injured state, but loses no Wounds from its profile. If it recovers in a subsequent End Phase, then it becomes Pinned with a Flesh Wound, and still no Wounds lost.

Maybe not unclear but at least discussed.

Wouldn't you say it's a little unclear when you have toxin weapons like the Needle rifle with Damage 1?

I think that helps...
