Hi Folks,

I've recently gotten into Kill Team, and I'm bringing my sons with me! They both expressed an interest in Necrons and Nids. I'm buying models second hand, as I'm not sure if they'll stick with it, and I have a couple friends that have too many warriors and too many nids. I got 10 Necron Warriors, in terrible condition, for $20. My friend bought them second hand, did a half-assed job of stripping them, and realized he already had way too many warriors, so they were just collecting dust.

Here's the starting models...

And after a whole bunch of chopping and gluing and repositioning and distinct inconvenience...

My honest suggestion to anyone without a son that was clearly disappointed with the Axe Men... would be to simply equip the Necrons with a pair of melee weapons. So much simpler and less fiddly. I swear to an uncaring universe that if it were up to me, that's what I'd have done. I like the look. But no. My kid is disappointed. He wants claws. Damned adorable children.

So Mr Handsy, on the right, was born. I tried using the fingery bits from the ends of the guns. I'm not happy with it, and may redo the hands. Mr Crab Claws, in the middle, has a big claw from a Zombie kit, I think. The "thumb" is from old Dark Eldar pistol knives. And then there's Mr Knife Fingers, second from the left. That's my son's favourite, and made from the helmet blades from an old Dark Eldar model. I couldn't get the fingers in the separated position I wanted, they kept sticking together. But he likes it, so that's good. I'll probably redo Handsy in that style. But in the meanwhile, that's where I'm at.

Priming and base coating to follow!

Nice conversions!
I like Mr Crab Claws. Reminds me of Clawful from MOTU.

Mr Knife Fingers looks just awesome. He's Freddy Necrueger!
Or a 40K Edward Scissorhands.

Cool!

If you need more claws, (can one get enough?!) I can recommend cutting them from plasticard, don't remember the thickness I used. Poke around in my small gallery for some samples.

Thanks folks! I think that making plasticard would be a good idea. I am not planning on going expanding to a 40k sized army, but you never know!

Did something similar myself. I had a bunch of broken warriors and I wanted to put them to use.

Also the Immortal kit is great for hands, should get you 10 extra pairs of hands (cut from weapons) and the kit is cheap

Thanks for the info! I like the claws... definitely going with plasticard if I do this again.
