Subject: [KILL TEAM] How come craftworld eldar are garbage?

Ok, I realise that could be an inflammatory title and yes I'm brand new to this forum but please let me explain my thinking. My friend and I were discussing craftworld eldar in kill team and how disappointed we were with what units are available for your kill team.
Firstly and most importantly, it seems a massive oversight that the most phychic race in 40k has no access to a single Psyker . Why aren't Warlocks available? It's not like they would be OP. Obviously we would put them in ourselves, fudge the rules you know but I'm a little disappointed the designers didn't think of this. I mean it's easy! Max them out at one model per team, give them psybolt....And that's it!
Secondly. Surely striking scorpions should be available right? The one unit that is known for infiltrating enemy positions.
I'd love to hear what people think.

Finecast.
If (almost) every model in KT has to come as plastic, Eldar have few choices.
Rangers are an exception, and are not plastic, but had to be in the list.
Aspect warriors are all resin, apart from Dire Avengers.
No Warlocks are plastic, apart from the jetbiker.
So, Eldar KT lists are suffering from the failure of Finecast.

Yeah, I think it was a big oversight to put in Guardians instead of scorpions and banshees.
I do not really miss the warlock, though. But that could've been cool, too. Maybe they will have craft world specific killteams down the road like they did for Chaos that will give different options.

I'm hoping for Warlocks in the Commanders expansion.

Wow, I had not thought of this, but that makes so much sense to me now. I totally wasn't considering how GW might limit options based on availability of plastic kits. But of course they would do that for a brand new game where they're trying to appeal to as many new players as possible...

There's plenty of (partly) finecast models in kill team: Lictors, Rangers, Storm Guardians, Flayed Ones and Kommandos

I'm assuming it's more to do with what they plan on including in each faction's starter box. They want new players buying starter sets to start with plastic. Automatically Appended Next Post: And keep resin to a minimum.

Without them, what would that leave for those 'armies'? Did they have to add them, just to make a viable list?
Storm Guardian arms being special is odd, but they caused that to themselves. A plastic sprue would not hurt, as that is the set I have from years ago.
Scorpions would be the obvious choice, and they're not there.

I don't play Eldar myself but I agree 100%. At least Scorpions should be included, possibly a Warlock as well.

The game is going to grow when Kill Team: Commanders comes out. I'm sure they'll add Warlocks or something else to it.
And really, Craftworld Eldar are just in dire need of an update to their model range all around. Sadly, it's not happening any time soon, but if we keep telling GW that we want an update, then they should eventually give it to us.
Let's put it this way, you likely won't have to wait as long as Sisters of Battle players.

The commanders expansion will have a plastic faction box - probably the new spiritseer - but we're told 4o data sheets. That works out at about 3 per faction - i could see a non hawk wings autarch or a warlock

Warlock is gonna need a serious price cut, and a fundamental rework on its powerset if it wants to be remotely viable for Kill Team.
55 points for two wounds and a single model buff aint even close to workable.

Eldar have too many units and not enough buyers for a good full update of their aging range

They would have more buyers if they updated their aging range.

Maybe. Unlike many factions that have very old models, Eldar have been a very strong faction in almost every edition. I don't want to say that players only play armies that are good, but that's always going to be a significant factor in sales. Plus a lot of the range has held up to the test of time.

The eldar range will only ever be selectively updated I predict. You'll get a new aspect redone every few years
