So after basically everyone pointed out in my last batch (which was also my first) that I needed to up the contrast on my shadows and highlights, I went with far more intense shadows on this one. I have to say it does work better from a distance, although some of it isn't as clean as I'd like it to be.

I also tried to apply some of the weathering techniques I use on larger mecha kits, but turns out, like with everything else, that doesn't necessarily translate to mini painting as easily as you'd think.

As for the color scheme, honestly, I was just sick of red after painting a whole bunch of Khorne minis. But this was also kind of a prototype because I'm definitely getting more AM models on account of I think they're awesome, and I'm thinking I'll stick with blue and orange. There's just some other stuff I'll have to do differently, like sticking to panel line washes for the larger mechanical parts and other stuff I learned from experimenting on this one.
