I played with my Legion of Azgorh with Nurgle allies army this weekend at a tournament and did pretty well, going 1-2 however should won first game, I just forgot to bring in my Gutrot Spume/5 Blightking allies in my first turn. While I got BullCentaur Renders as battleline since I had Shartor as my general, and I got the sweet Black Hammer of Hashut for my Taurukā¦.. I'm wondering if a generic Chaos ability of potential +1 to hits in combat is more advantageous? If the general is within 12" and uses the Lord of War trait, then the roll is on a 5+ instead of a 6+. Potentially a 1/3 of the army could be rolling +1 to hits in combat if played right.
The Legion of Azgorh allegiance ability is that all the units ignore the first wound in each shooting and combat phase. That's pretty good. However, they are limited on allies, and because of their limited mobility, I found that having Gutrot and BLightkings were awesome at gaining some control of the enemy backfield and doing some decent damage. That got me thinking, if I had the Chaos allegiance I could use my Gutter runners too, and some other good units.
Generally speaking for the lesser of the Chaos allegiances, is the +1 to hit chance worth taking a more miscellaneous variety of units? Any thoughts?
