As the title says. Currently as it stands the native Shield of Faith (in addition to the 6++ save, which is fine) allows you to Deny the Witch using 1d6 instead of 2d6 if a Sisters unit is within 24" of the enemy psyker. Seems neat and flavorful on paper, but in practice is absolutely useless - most psychic powers have a warp value of 6 or more, making it exceedingly unlikely for this to ever be successful.
My proposed change would be to roll a d6 for every Sisters unit in range (perhaps a shorter range like 12" or even 6" if that's too good) and sum the totals for their Deny the Witch tests. They're Witch Hunters, after all, and should be good at messing up enemy psykers. This way you're encouraged to mob the enemy psyker with your units which again, seems fairly in character. With their low numbers and high point costs, getting enough d6 to have a decent go at denying anything would still be challenging, but not next to impossible, and they wouldn't be forced to bring allied Psykers to defend themselves - something they'd canonically try to avoid as much as possible.
Might be totally off the mark here, but what do you all think? Any other ways to buff the Shield of Faith ability to be relevant?
