Hello,

with the release of the new version, will the old metal models of the Lord of the Rings come back to the shops? (Like numenor warrior with spear or bow, feral uruk hai, sharku, etc....)

Thanks!

Impossible to say.

GW has released some old models on limited runs in the past for Fantasy (and continues to do so) but what will come and when is totally unknown. We don't even tend to hear rumours much of them since its all in-house and cast on demand.

Another aspect is overall sales; if GW can see healthy money and they've space in their release line up thre is a chance; if not then you might never see them. Plus GW might be making new plastic sculpts.

They've said they intend to revisit pretty much the whole range at some point, so models will be coming and going. For example, they'll revisit Helm's Deep and may re-release or run a 'Made to Order' batch of certain associated models.

As for one of your examples, I personally hope they do a full revisit on The Last Alliance and refresh the Numenorian line. But that's asking a lot - new plastics for warriors, cavalry and re-doing the heroes. I doubt they'd manage to do that, but it's probably my ultimate dream.

On the community page they mentioned some made to order stuff. So expect to see important models like captains available for 1 week and never seen again

Old models will come back, though it will not be for long. Adam Troke said these will usually be connected to campaign book releases. The first one will be about Gondor and the Pelennor and old models of that scenario will come back like Khand. How long these will be available I don't know, but eventually all old models are said to come back for a short time (aside from Aragorn #8... popular heroes with multiple versions are likely to get a plastic new release, though).

Hopefully once they get through all they start the cycle again. Doubtful I can afford many during the first round.

I’m hoping they replace some of the resin infantry with plastic but doubtful. Some great looking miniatures for evil but just so expensive for so few when they might be a horde army.

Considering Knights of Dol Amroth have been replaced with a £32 6 model kit...I'd not hold your breath.
They've already priced that unit out of the game entirely

Don't make sweeping assumptions like that.

In answer to the OP, all profiles will have models eventually, just not necessarily the original models. In terms of older, alternative metals, it has been confirmed that a number of models have been taken off the site for rebranding and that there will be periodical made to orders for the older metals. Whether they will be available in the shops? Unlikely for the metals judging by what has been released so far, but if it proves popular enough, it could happen.

It is very possible to say as GW has confirmed multiple times now that previously out of production models will be re-released.

Funny... I saw a few already at our 25-player event this weekend. Didn't hear the Iron-Hills or Thranduil's Hall, players complaining either...

Not sure how many they are making of the models listed on the webstore, but many seem to sell out very quickly after re-stock. Sometimes I get the email notification when somethings back in stock, jump online right away and they are gone already. My hope is that the game is proving more popular than they guessed it would, somewhat like the Blood Bowl re-release.

Not really a question of intelligence. I already bought and received 2 boxes. The casts came out great and the sculpts are excellent, given LotR's model count I'd gladly take FW sculpts at this price over the mono-pose metals or most of the plastic kits GW makes for the setting. If you can't afford them on w/e wage you earn that's sad, but don't project that frustration on others, that's just petty dude.

Hey if you think paying £32 + 12% postage for 6 models is value go right ahead.
Especially when 6 MOUNTED models are £18...
I mean yeah that just makes PERFECT sense right?...RIGHT???
And it has nothing to do with affordability.
It's value for money.
For £32+12% I can get 30 to 60 28mm high detail multi part plastic models with change.

Someone being willing to spend more than you feel is appropriate for something has nothing to do with their intelligence. Take a breath, and move on.

There is a bit of an issue in helping support GW's business practices when said practices are abusive. There is, in fact, such a thing as moral consumption and being a moral buyer.

And not everyone agrees that it's 'abusive' just because you do. So as already noted, take a breath and move on.

Please explain. What is abusive about GW/FW? How is it immoral to purchase from them? Is it only immoral to buy FW but not GW proper, would you say a Legion upgrade sprue is not ok but a Tactical Squad box is moral consumption?

What in the world makes pricing a non-essential good out of someone's reach abusive? Those of us who want these products at their current price are not wronging anyone or enabling an abusive company.

What idiot spends £32 on 30 plastic models when you can cast several HUNDRED tin flats with £32? Seriously it's morally bankrupt to sell 30 figures for £32. I mean if you're dumb enough to pay that price....

nobody is putting a gun against your head. but don't complain if others buy them. this has nothing to do with morals or intelligence. gw is selling at a price that a lot of people are willing to pay...
