I've kind of lost track of where 40k is at FAQ wise while playing Sigmar.
Is Gate of Infinity doable turn 1 for Grey Knights?
Thanks!

They also finally cleared that up for good on the september FAQ so you don't need to hunt down for FB post that's months ago. Helps in case you run into player who isn't aware of that.

The fixed it in the latest version of the rule, before you couldn't.

It has been possible to do so almost immediately after spring faq. Some didn't know it though or are just stubborn enough to say no you can't even when official source says yes you can.

This is debate over what constitutes an official source.

In practice, you could do this before the FAQ. The FAQ confirms the intent of the rule.

No official rules source said you could (in fact the official rules source explicitly forbid it) until the latest round of Beta rules.

GW flat out said that FB answer is official source.

There's no debate over it unless you want to make up.

Except of course GW's facebook post which they have confirmed is official answer. Anybody who thinks even 1 second will realize it was official. Anybody who claims otherwise even after having pointed out that post from FB is flat out wrong and is either just incompetent regarding 40k rules or stirring trouble just for fun of it.

From the facebook page's "About" section:
And a quick note on rules questions - we can’t give you official answers. We’re not the Games Designers, they’re locked up in the studio. We might be able to give you some general advice or point you in the right direction but better to try and work it out with your gaming buddies.

More than once they gave answers that wer very quickly contradicted by a FAQ, and they quite commonly make basic mistakes or reply without fully understanding the questions.
So unless they preface a reply with "A rule designer told us" or something similar, I wouldn't take their word for gospel.

And out of curiosity, where did GW mention that FB posts were official rules? I missed it.

So you're saying this doesn't look official?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

1) This looks shopped. I can tell by the pixels.

2) Why is this argument continuing when GW already changed the beta rule to allow teleports turn 1 (thus proving that those who said it wasn't possible correct, by the way ).

They totally changed the rule, making the argument null and void. That doesn't prove either party right.

SO, the original question appears to have been answered. Moving on.
