I am new to 40k, started playing kill team and I thought it would be interesting to do a kill team of CSM with beastmen heads, I was wondering if anyone had done this before or if anyone knew if the heads would work? I know the scout marines have a flat head while the Space Marines have a little circle under theirs. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

you would most likely need to sculpt some sort of shim to prop their heads up in the torso armour to avoid having them look like theyre being throttled by their gorget sections but that would be easy enough to do with greenstuff/milliput, and would be easy enough to keep invisible under the head.

I'm guessing you haven't seen mayajid's 40k beastmen project? I'm pretty sure he used SW rules, but regardless, he crushed the concept in pretty amazing ways. Definitely worth mining for ideas if you want to get crazier than headswaps: https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-33913-25745_Beastmen%2040k-%20The%20metal%20beast%20project.html

Thank you for the website idea I hadn't heard of them before, would it be difficult working with resin? So far the ones I have are all made of plastic. Salvage I agree those are some amazing ways of incorporating beastmen, I will be taking ideas from those images. Thank you all for the ideas and suggestions. I will make sure to post WIP as I go.

I think one of his smartest and simplest changes was to use stealth suit legs instead of marine legs. I'd say those + beastmen heads on CSM torsos + arms would go pretty far in bulking them out and making them more abhuman than a headswap. Also solves the problem of those gimpy midget marine legs

They will fit, but IIRC, the hair generally doesn't, so you have to either greenstuff up hair or necks. Also, chopping gors at the waist (or possibly a bit higher to avoid going through the medallion) will get something close to marine leg socket size. Gotta go to work now, but I do have some I did up, I'll try to post 'em this week if you think it'd help.
