So I've worked out some specifics I want to try for a "Space Hulk-esk" video game style set of scenarios (or levels) for small games. These scenarios are HIGLY influenced by models I own, but I am sure they could be adapted in style to fit other units.

Playable unit - 5 Terminators which always deploy first:
1 w/ Thunderhammer/Stormshield, 1 w/ 2 Lightning claws, 2 w/ Stormbolter/Powerfist, 1 Stormbolter/Halberd

Chaos enemy units:
Unit of 5 Cultists. After any phase in which a cultist is removed, roll a d6 before removing it. On a 4+, a single lessor Daemon bursts through the dying Cultist. Place the lessor Daemon model with 3” of the Cultist then remove the Cultist.
Lessor Daemons can chosen from Bloodletter, Daemonette, Plaguebearer or Pink Horror datasheets
At the beginning of any enemy turn in which all 5 Cultists have been removed in the previous turn, 5 “new” Cultists may enter the game by moving onto the board from any table edge.

Units of 3 Chaos Space marines. 1 model in each unit may select from the Heavy or Special weapons lists
Units of 1 Chaos Terminator* with Power Axe and combi-weapon.
Units of 1 Obliterator*
*These units are always in reserve and drop in on a turn dictated by the “level”. These units may be placed anywhere outside 9” of the Terminators

Daemon Prince with armour – For the Boss Battle level, the Daemon Prince always arrives from reserves in the first turn and may be placed anywhere outside 9” of the Terminators

Level 1: Annihilation – Our heroes arrive on a Chaos corrupted world, tasked with destroying the foul Heretics

Table size: 2’x2’ Deployment: The Terminators deploy within 3” of the center of the table.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists, 3 units of Chaos Marines. Each enemy deploys within 3” of the center of each 2’ table edge
Primary Objective: Destroy all enemies - The Terminators must end their 5th turn with no enemy models on the table to win
Secondary Objective: All Terminators survive the battle
Terminators go first

Level 2: Breakthrough – The Terminators must traverse the world to get to the source of the corruption

Table size: 2’x2’ Deployment: The Terminators deploy within 3” of the center of a table edge.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists and 2 units of Chaos Marines deployed with 6” of the table edge opposite the Terminators
2 Chaos Terminators in reserves. One Terminator arrives turn 2, the other on turn 3

Weapon Upgrade: Place 3 objectives on the table outside 6” of any table edge and at least 9” from each other.
Number them 1-3. Before the first turn, roll a D3. The objective that matches this roll has an Assault Cannon with it.
At the end of a movement phase in which the Terminators are within 3” of this objective, any Terminator can swap it’s Storm Bolter for it.

Primary Objective: Forward to the enemy – The Terminators must move to the opposite table. The game ends once the Terminator unit reaches base contact (with all models) with the opposite table edge, or are all killed.
Chaos goes first

Level 3: ??? Something with an Obliterator and objectives to reload

Level 4: Boss Battle – The Daemon Prince Arrives

Table size: 2’x2’ Deployment: The Terminators deploy within 3” of the center of any table edge.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists deployed with 6” of the table edge opposite the Terminators
2 Chaos Terminators in reserves. One Terminator arrives turn 2, the other on turn 3

Primary Objective: Cut the Head of the Snake – Destroy the Daemon prince
Secondary Objectives: All Terminators survive the battle and destroy all enemy units
Chaos goes first
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know that was a lot to read. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? My son and I will be trying these soon.

The terminators ain't gonna live. Specially not with an Obliterator.

That's why there are 5 of them, one with a Storm shield and I'm probably gonna have an option for a Cyclone ML in the level with the Oblit.
I'd like some kind of "health" or "extra life" for the Terminators. Any suggestions?

Maybe they could pick up Command Points at the end of each turn by being near an objective and allow the use of the Re-roll strat and the following:
"The mission before Death - At the end of a Battle Round in which one or more Terminators have been removed as casualties, spend 1CP to restore 1 Terminator.
Place the Terminator within coherency to the unit with 1 remaining wound."
I'd probably want to start them with 3CPs as if they were Battle Forged.

Also, all Terminator Casualties would be fully restored at the start of each level.

Okay, that's a little better.

Another think to consider is that the table is so small, that is shouldn't take but 1-2 turns to assault any particular threat

Ok, so I've got it more fleshed out, but since it's a lot, I'll break it up into spoiler tags:

Basic premise with rules:
Spoiler:
Playable unit - 5 Terminators which always deploy first:
1 w/ Thunderhammer/Stormshield, 1 w/ 2 Lightning claws, 2 w/ Stormbolter/Powerfist, 1 Stormbolter/Halberd (Power Axe)

Chaos enemy units:
Unit of 5 Cultists. At the end of any phase in which a cultist is removed, roll a d6. On a 4+, a single lessor Daemon bursts through the dying Cultist. Place the lessor Daemon model with 3” of where the Cultist was removed.

Units of 1 Chaos Terminator* with Power Axe and combi-melta.
Units of 1 Obliterator*
Daemon Prince with armour*
*These units are always in reserve and drop in on a turn dictated by the “level”. These units may be placed anywhere outside 9” of the Terminators

The Terminators start the first Level with 3 Command Points. They can gain 1 addition Command Point each turn by ending their move within 1” of one or more objectives during the game. At the beginning of each subsequent Level, the unit has the same number of Command Points as it had at the end of the previous Level.

These Command points can be used for the Command Re-Roll Stratagem or the following:
--The Mission Before Death--
At the end of a Battle Round in which one or more Terminators have been removed as casualties at any previous point in the game, spend 1CP to restore 1 Terminator.
Place the Terminator within coherency to the unit with 1 remaining wound

Table size for each level is intended to be 2’x2’.
At the beginning of each Level, place 3 Objectives on the table outside 6” of any table edge and at least 9” from each other.
Levels
Spoiler:
Level 1: Annihilation – Our heroes arrive on a Chaos corrupted world, tasked with destroying the foul Heretics

The Terminators deploy within 3” of the center of the table and will take first turn.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists, 3 units of Chaos Marines. Each enemy deploys within 3” of a separate table corner
Primary Objective: Destroy all enemies - The Terminators must end their 5th turn with no enemy models on the table to win
Secondary Objective: All Terminators survive the battle

Level 2: Breakthrough – The Terminators must traverse the world to get to the source of the corruption

The Terminators deploy within 3” of the center of a table edge. Chaos will take first turn.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists and 2 units of Chaos Marines deployed with 6” of the table edge opposite the Terminators
2 Chaos Terminators in reserves. One Terminator arrives turn 2, the other on turn 3

Weapon Upgrade: Before the first turn number each objective 1-3 and roll a D3. The objective that matches this roll has an Assault Cannon. At the end of a movement phase in which the Terminators are within 3” of this objective, any Terminator can swap it’s Storm Bolter for it. This Terminator will have the Assault Cannon in all subsequent Levels.
Primary Objective: Forward to the enemy – The Terminators must move to the opposite table. The game ends once the Terminator unit reaches base contact (with all models) with the opposite table edge, or are all killed.

Level 3: Reload & Rearm – Ammo is running low, the unit needs to restock

The Terminators deploy within 3” of any table corner and take first turn.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists and 2 units of Chaos Marines deployed with 6” of the opposite table corner
1 Chaos Terminators and 1 Obliterator in reserves arriving turn 2.
The table should have up to 4 Minstorum Containers (or similar) scattered across to block LoS

Weapon Upgrade: Before the first turn number each objective 1-3 and roll a D3. The objective that matches this roll has a Cyclone Missile launcher. At the end of a movement phase in which the Terminators are within 3” of this objective, any Terminator (other than the one with the Assault cannon) may pick it up and use it. This Terminator will have the Cyclone Missile launcher in all subsequent Levels.
Primary Objective: The Terminators need to claim all 3 objectives to restock on ammunition and rearm. The unit must move from objective to objective before the ends

Level 4: Boss Battle – The Daemon Prince Arrives

The Terminators deploy within 3” of the center of any table edge. Chaos will take first turn.
Enemies: 1 unit of Cultists deployed with 6” of the table edge opposite the Terminators
1 Daemon Prince that arrives turn 1
2 Chaos Terminators arriving turn 2

Primary Objective: Cut the Head of the Snake – Destroy the Daemon prince. The game ends once either the Daemon Prince or the Terminator unit is destroyed

Optional 2 player Mode:
Replace the 5 Terminator unit with 2 Terminator Captains, each controlled by a different player
Each player may equip their Captain in the same way as any of the 5 Terminators
Replace ---The Mission Before Death--- with the following:
---Extra Life – 2CP---
Each time one of them is removed as a casualty, they may spend 2CPs to arrive at the end of their next movement phase with full wounds restored. They may not arrive within 9” of any enemy unit. If both Terminators are ever removed in the same turn, the mission is over and they lose regardless of how Command points they may have left.
