Some people don't want to waste money and time buying/painting models just to lose every game (like I did with Star Striders). It's really easy to see what armies do well in 40k because there's tons of big tournaments and many places to find the winning lists for those tournaments, or even a list of how many top 3s each faction has at GTs in 8th edition. These resources don't exist for Kill Team. The only way to really find this info is either play in a campaign against a bunch of competitive lists from multiple factions and figure it out yourself, or ask on a forum.

Id agree with you but its not only kill teams. 99% of his threads is this army top tier or what is the top tier and i need help making a top tier army.

seems more like he has an unwillingness to break down the codex to do the work himself or even simple google search to see recent events and lists.

The reality is this

If you are not going to bother to build a command roster, then you really are not worried about being competitive

If you do build a command roster then you can tailor your lists vs your opponent and almost every faction has answers for the "top tier" armies

If you are unaware an individual Kill Team is limited to less than 20 models more than 3 models must have a leader etc and meet the points limit for the mission, however you have a command roster which is additional models you can swap into your kill team for a mission. Its your side board from magic, its your barracks of elite forces who may not be appropriate for every mission etc

And literally half his threads he posts he starts and then never posts in them again.

We really should have the board stop people starting a new thread if their threads:posts ratio is too low.
