Look at this thing. One fell off my paint desk and despite a day of searching, I convinced it has been consumed by the warp.

Ah the void shield. Tiny but important detail. Avoiding tiniest parts being missed on those titans was tricky Have to be careful least you drop one. One of my warlords is missing one defensive gun :(

Some of these parts are better clipped off the sprue as needed. That way you won't lose em.

That's how I roll. Haha. I used this stuff and made a new, passable one

Somebody cuts out all the pieces and then starts assembling? How you keep track of which part was which number anyway to follow instructions? Especially when some parts only fit with other part(though don't recall how much those were on titans)

I had a similar problem when building a Knight.

I managed to drop one of the struts that holds the shin guards.
Searched the floor, nothing.

Resigned myself to making a replacement part using one of the others as a template.

Then, mysteriously, it turned up on the floor in a completely different room, no idea how it got there though.

For many GW models (esp single large models like a warlord or reaver) the parts are quite unique and few in number. Even without the instructions you can work out how most go together pretty easily. With the instructions its even easier as unique parts are easily compared with the photos in the guide as to what goes where.

I find that checking part numbers tends to only be required on things like witch-aelves, ergo troops where most are mono-pose and have specific arms and legs and heads that go on in specific places to fit and where there are multiple similar pose models in the box. In those cases the part numbers help a lot - even so the pictures are good enough that you could logically work most things out without the number on them (though its more fiddly).

And if you've got some older single pose troops like high elf spearmen then its even easier as each part is just a default single part; so you can clip the whole lot off and build them up

True sometimes it's quite easy though still I find it safer to check in any case. I don't see much benefit cutting all in advance. If nothing else if I have to stop midway don't have to worry about losing parts in between. Maybe might be better if I had dedicated hobby table...

I find that it helps to clip out all the bits and set them in dedicate piles for infantry/troops. That wya one can reach over and work on them when needed without pausing to have to find bits on the sprue. It speeds things up.

That said unless you've a dedicated table (away from pets/children/others) or one of those tool cases with lots of divider containers; then its not a good idea. I've got both a case and a safe table so I just leave them lined up on the table - got 30 witch aelves I'm slowly working through building on the tale right now .

When you're on your 4th Warlord or your 6th Reaver you don't need the instructions anymore, you just want to get them over with. The first one is great fun, the second one is fun, the third one is okay, the fourth one is boring, etc, etc.
