XCom 2 is going to get more content on Tuesday the 9th. A new DLC called the "Tactical Legacy Pack" will be released. If you own XCom 2 and the War of the Chosen expansion, then you can get it for free until early December. If you own XCom 2 but don't own War of the Chosen, then you're out of luck. This requires the War of the Chosen expansion.

The DLC appears to be a grab bag of stuff including new maps, game modes, missions that are supposed to explain what happened during the period of time between XCom and XCom 2, and more.

Finally, it's only available on PCs.

Nice! Will have to give this game a revisit.

Is this the rumoured "TLE"?

Since I play Xcom 2 in Xbox, I guess I'm out of luck (for now). Maybe this time, next year...

Anyway, Xcom2 is a great game and the ending left me waiting fore some Terror from the Deep sequel...

Also, War of the Chosen just went on sale on Steam. It's ordinarily $40, but the price has been reduced to $24. That price is good until the 16th. All of the other DLC packages - with the notable exception of the Resistance Warrior Pack - have been discounted by 50%. I've no idea why they didn't discount that last one, but it's merely a customization package, and not additional levels or other sorts of content.


Oh, and I forgot to mention -

XCom 2 is currently free to play on Steam, and will remain that way unitl the 12th. So if you've wanted to check it out but haven't yet done so, now's the perfect time.

There was a rumour they were doing an DLC to Xcom 2 with a working title of TLE (propably means The Last Expansion or The Latest Expansion).

I guess the rumours were true and it turned out to be this.

I'm still rooting for XCOM 3, but I'll take anything XCOM really (if/when this comes to XBONE).

The War of the Chosen DLC was great. This one propably isn't as big DLC as WotC, but it still sounds like it's bigger than the 2 previous DLCs.

Since there's no chance that this DLC comes to XBONE any time soon, I think I will just start the WotC campaign again...

For a free product, it added quite a bit and its fun so far.

Playing the mini campaign in the Archive Hub. Its just run of the mill missions with Bradford(Central) narrating his journey, bridging the gap from X-com 1 to the days before the Commanders rescue in 2 as mentioned in OP. Its entirely linear and you don’t get to select skills or loadouts for your squad, other than a choice at the end of the mission that equips your dudes with new implants or gear. The skills seem to be chosen for you, which is a bummer. Just playing on the default difficulty and its a breeze so far. Mainly just “kill all xenos” missions, with one “rescue the civilians” op 5 missions deep..

There seems to be 4 story arcs in the Archive Hub, with 7 missions in the first arc. I haven’t gotten through the first arc yet (5/7), but I’m looking forward to playing some more.

I haven’t tried any of the challenges just yet.

I did the entire campaign again, didn't realize the Training Centre replaced the AWC from before, and didn't realize i had to take soldiers out for five days to let them spend their AP.

I feel dumb. God damnit.

When it comes on XBone I suppose I could do another playthrough.
