Local Tournament on the 20th of October. 1k points with a limit of 1 Codex and 2 detachments for each army. Only 1 titanic unit and forgeworld is allowed.

The idea is to have a small castle (maybe too small for a Captain and a Lieu, maybe merge them into a Smash Captain?) and some limited mobility.
I like the combined armed approach because of the vast array of threats in the meta (I can face almost anything). There are no outstanding unit and losing a piece/squad won't be an issue.

What do you think this list can struggle against? How would you improve it? I am firmly against primaris marines and was thinking about ditching the tanks to have more infantry to see the anti tank weaponry of my opponents go to waste.

So you don’t really have anything to spend your CP on. One of the few things that SM have are hellfire shells and flak Missiles. You will want to use them every turn.

First of all, Thank you for your replies.

Sadly I don't own 3 Razorbacks and only one has twin assault cannon.

A revisited list would look like:

Captain w/jumppack thunderhammer, shield eternal and "imperium's sword" as warlord trait.

Chronus 2 lascannons and 1 predator autocannon, 1 storm bolter


5x Tac marine w/ HB
5x Tac marine plasma - combi plasma
5x Tac marine plasma - combi plasma

5x Devastator Squad with Heavy Bolter (in order to use the signum with the Heavy Bolter's stratagem)

5x Vanguard Veterans w/ jumppacks and 2x chainswords

Razorback w/ Assault Cannons and storm bolter
Razorback w/ Lascannons and storm bolter

The captain now carries a bit of a punch with him and he is going to push up the field with the vanguards and the assault cannon razorback with a plasma-tactical squad inside.

The other forces will anchor my position and try to contest mid field objectives.

I don't really care about CP because I feel that the Codex: SM stratagems are pure garbage and I plan to use some for "scions of guilliman" on the plasma team and maybe to make the captain fight again.
Regarding the Heavy Bolter's stratagem and the Missile Launcher's one, I think in my list they are situational because I don't have any other way to inflict mortal wounds.

so wait... whats the vanguard veteran squad actually armed with? I'm confused... and can't bre the only one? also as the only assault elemnt of your list they'll be focused down quickly without clever placement and use of terrain.

I like the Tactical squads, heavy bolter for hellfire shells and likewise equipped devastator squad are okay... I'd want a missile launcher in the Devs too though if possible.

Chronus at 1k pts should pull his weight and affords you some valuable anti-tank firepower
the razorback supporting gives you 4 durable enough lascannons down the pitch.., i'd feel okay about this.

Decent enough list man, i'd swap out the veterans as they'll be easy to isolate so won't be able to commit to a full frontal assault.... maybe taking out likewise-isolated enemy units and backfield support if left unguarded? they're not hitting all that hard for their cost though friend...

I also dont like the vanguard veterans. Drop them for a Lutenant or more bodies (scouts/tactical marines?)
