I wondered if someone could help explain Regimental choices &c. as I have come up with a list that includes a few units of Scions mounted in chimera, and I feel that the Armageddon doctrine would work far better for how I would want to use them in game. Would I be ok to play them like this? I should also mention that none of the weapon choices, apart from the hs lasguns, are inherently scion-based.

Scions do not have a choice for Regiment so cannot be a custom Regiment.

Scions cannot take another regiment. You either run them as Regimentless, or isolate them in their own detachment so they get the Storm Troopers doctrine.

What you can do is run Storm Trooper Scions in a Chimera from another detachment that has, for example, Steel Legion regiment bonus.
