Inquisitorial Keeper of the Xenobanks

Here we are ! Eventually, after months, I have found a new phone to take pictures. My brother gave my this surpise present last Christmas, and so I have been working on it this year. I wanted to try something new, somehting different from my others mini ( with more conversions, as I rarely do conversion, or I just buy FW packs, and a new paintstyle) and from the otthers gangs of Necro. I'll stop you right there, I failed, there is almost no conversions in my gangs, but I did try some new paint schemes ! So here we go ! GANG GOLIATH So, as you see, the pictures are a bit dark, but there are somewhat okay. I tried a different paintjob that the usual redish one. On the first champion, there are battle damages, one of the first mini on which I did it on ! I had only did it on the GW container scenery. GANG ESCHER I am to paint my Van Saar before my Eschers, as I haven't decided yet of the paint scheme but I have already one for my Van Saar. So myabe not this year for the poor Eschers, not before December at least.

Here is a paintscheme test for the Van Saar, inspired by Mass Effect 3 Cerberus soldiers.
Better pictures soon. I did the base the same way as the Goliaths, I was worried it wouldn't fit as the ganger is pretty much all white instead of the dark tones of the Goliaths, but I think it is ok (should paint the base darker like a dark metal but I want to keep coherency through the bases).

The yellow works quite well on the goliaths. I also think you've balanced it well with the metals. Too much yellow can be overpowering.
The Cerberus Van Saar look ace as well. Looking forward to seeing your escher painted

I am back ! I was doing a semester abroad, so I couldn't paint anything since the end of December. I'll leave tomorrow for Malta for an internship, so I'll not be able to paint, again, before early July and then I'll be working away from home until early september. Which suck because that almost a one year break into my hobby... however, I still have some stuff to show you ! And I have a new phone so a new camera ! I hope the pictures are better. My almost completed Van Saar Gang: The gangers have one yellow line, the champions have two and the leader will have three, I think it's an easy way to recognize them and it makes sense in universe. What do you think about my osl attempt on the gun ?

Osl looks pretty good. Nice subtle.glow.
Pic wise, if you are using your phone then get a cropping app to help trim off the extra background.

I'm normally not a big fan of osl, but when it's done on smaller scale like this i think it's perfect.

And eventually, my Van Saar gang is done !
Here are a few pictures:
So they have a color language: 1 yellow strip is a ganger, 2 is a champion, 3 is a leader and 0 is a juve. I have done it on the helmets, guns and pauldrons.
Except the leader who has only 2 strips on her helmet because it was too small but she has them horizontally.
I took inspiration from Cerberus from Mass Effect for the paint scheme.
And some better pictures of my Goliaths:
Enjoy !

So, now it's Escher time and I have painted two models so far:
(The second Escher has been already posted on this forum in another thread but she belongs here with her leader so I posted her too).
It's quite time consuming but with only 10 mini to paint it's okay. That's why I love doing small warbands !
Hope you like them as much as the others !

I really love these. The atmosphere is great - and the hazard stripe bases are genius. I think the Goliaths are my favourite - I'd definitely be crossing to the other side of the under hive if I saw them coming my way.
