How on earth do they do that banner? Is there a way or is it just skill and doing it by hand? It almost looks like a printed mini photo

The original image is from official GW art, so it certainly could just be a printout, or a print that they painted over.

That standard is freehand, they are pre shaped and blank, you can get embossed ones too

You used to get a pre printed paper sticker for banners
