How does brown sound? Grey? Or leave them as is? Any other suggestions will be much appreciated

I'd go with a fatigue or olive green, to tie in with the green armor plates.

Probably a light brown to add some contrast.

Yep, a brown (not super dark). Maybe simple canvas colour.

If you use Vallejo, look up canvas. Basically you have a nice clash of beige and green so you want something that doesn't distract too heavily from that. A brown which is not super dark will blend in, while adding a tiny bit of additional contrast.

My immediate thought was a guardsman in 40k? Definitely the brown trousers - he will need them!

Personally I'd go for painting inner lining of the coat in dryad bark or something similar. It makes sense for the pants and coat to be the same colour, camouflage wise.
