I've come across this comic which seems to show an example of some Men of Iron, some years old. So I absolutely have to know - does anyone know if it is canon?

It isn't "fluff" - it's lore.

Warhammer monthly? Is that...canon? Are those true to form examples of men of iron? And if they were, were there nearly infinite variations of them, perhaps?

Warhammer Monthly was a Black Library publication, so it's as canon as anything else. The war against the Men of Iron was larger than the Horus Hersey so I'd imagine they were many different variations of them.

(And Pax Imperialis is one of my favourite stories)

Absolutely fascinating - I never knew they were ever touched on o.o is there still any way to get that whole story/comic, officially?

It's currently OOP - but they just reprinted Inferno so who knows. The Men of Iron story was in issue 36.

No problem; it's especially relevant today, isn't it? Lol. Twitter is abuzz with folks chatting about the Blackstone Fortress fella.
