If that was what I wanted to do, personally I'd just PM one of the Mods or Admin and ask them, I'm sure they'd oblige.

Just log out and stop posting? There's no reason you'd need to delete it.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I can think of several reasons, including any images and such posted and associated with the account, as well as the email address and location information stored. (And displayed, in the latter case)

Okay.

A user can't delete their account.

I'm sure it could be arranged by the site technical administrator, however it's a disruptive thing to do because a user's posts often weave into many different threads and those lose some coherence.

If you just want to stop posting, any moderator can lock your account for a period of time.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Thanks! I wasn't sure where to post. But the reason was I couldn't see some posts on an old thread of mine and I thought the responder had been deleted. Turns out my memory was bad and the poster was in a different thread.

Please lock this.
