Hi Everyone

I am still quite new to tau and played them in my second ITC event just this weekend been it was a total of 16 players and I ended up coming first which was a nice bonus to the weekend I played against 3 different armies on the day and ended up with a score of 239 out of a total of 246

The lists I played against were

Deathwatch and guard (imperial soup) - result = 42-6
Nurgle and morty - result = 36-2
Tau Triple surge - result = 41-5

The list I played is below, general tactics is to castle turn one with everything bar the keel and, stealths hide drones if possible on ground floor out of line of site but within 3 of everything the commander will shout kanyon turn one and then proceed to use command and control node on the broadsides for the rest of the game unless i need him to shoot something, the infiltrating units help me here because I have some early game aggro that is hard to shift and also helps me to score the bonus on some of the scenarios from turn 1 onwards to help achieve max points, turn 2 the riptides can freely move about due to target locks I have tried the velocity trackers but found they are only useful in a couple of match ups rather then all and prefer the guarantee they will never suffer the penalty for moving and shooting so provide some mid board pressure too. I am not sure how to and where to improve I have considered maybe getting some more ghost keels over the broadsides and this frees some points to maybe even get long strike in with a bit of shuffling but overall thoughts from my end are it is a good list it does alot of everything plenty of anti tank and anti infantry and can deal with higher toughness units and multi wound models and there is plenty of marker lights to totaling 11

Did you mean the first detachment is Tau and the second detachment is Borkan? If so then the drones wouldn't be able to use savior protocols for the riptides. List looks potent though, are the railsides for killing knights, etc?

Hi it is all bork'an dw should have made it a bit clearer xD the rail rifles are for killing knights or anything with alot of wounds they are quite tasty with reroll wounds

List was really solid lots of synergy etc added another list I'm trying next week to decide which list I enjoy more

My bad, for some reason i thought you meant the first detachment was tau sept. does the supernova launcher do work? I've never seen it in action.

No worries hehe I reworded it etc

The supernova is actually really cheeky essentially a d6 heavy burst cannon comes in handy when you need those last couple of wounds gone etc
