For example: my BullCentaur Tauruk of the Legion of Azgorh lets him grant +1 to hit rolls for Bahal units "wholly within" 12" of the Tauruk.
Does that mean my other BullCentaurs have to have their entire bases (including the farthest edges) within 12" of the Tauruk? Or does that mean to be affected, every model in a BullCentaur unit has to have just its closest base edge within 12" of the Tauruk?

From the Age of Sigmar Core Rules Designers' Comentary:
Q: Sometimes a rule will specify that a model or unit needs to be ‘wholly within’ a certain distance. What exactly does ‘wholly within’ mean?
A: A model is wholly within a certain distance if all of its base is within the stated distance (not just the closest point of the base). A unit is wholly within a certain distance as long as all of the bases of all of the models in the unit are within the stated distance (not just the closest point of the base of the closest model).

D'oh! Thanks for that. Tough to fit big units of cavalry wholly within ranges then.

It states that all of the bases of all of the models need to be within the distance, but not that the whole bases of all of the models need to be within. I would take that as all the models bases need to touch the aura not be entirely within it. They left the word wholly out when referring to the units bases, I would assume on purpose.

Read it again (emphasis added): Q: Sometimes a rule will specify that a model or unit needs to be ‘wholly within’ a certain distance. What exactly does ‘wholly within’ mean? Your position would be 'part of the bases of all of the models' and does not satisfy the rule as clarified by the FAQ.
