So Rivendell army bonus seems pretty meh to me. Reroll shooting rolls if the model does not move and within range of Army Leader.

This seems really hard to come into play. Army Leader seems like it's generally going to be Elrond or Gil-Galad, maybe Glorfindel? And none of those 3 guys want to be hanging back to babysit archers.

That being said, I've got all of 4 games of MESBG under my belt, so maybe I'm missing something. Any thoughts?

Well, if you're running Elrond, then you've probably got some Rivendell Knights with their free bows, right? At which point, provided 1/3rd of your Warriors are armed with Elf Bows, you're most likely already outshooting most anyone else in the game with 3+ hit rolls and S3 Elf Bows.

Why not hang back and let your opponent come to you at first? Let them come to you, whittle down their numbers and it'll let you pick your fights a little easier.

Sometimes the scenario will not call for this, and you'll have to move into position, but also bare in mind that your Archers aren't necessarily any worse off than any of your other Warriors - they still have the hand and a half Elven blade that your Swordsmen have, and you can still give them shields if you want. They don't necessarily need to be hanging back all the way.

It's also pretty great in any defensive scenario. Remember, your leader doesn't need to be stationary - just the Archers!

I think its pretty good really. It also fits their theme.

Most cases you will be outnumbered since your guys cost more on average then anyone else, but that's the price for having some of the best stat lines

You want to in most cases get a few turns of shooting first to even it up before melee

Not yet. Models have been notoriously hard to come by. My first Knight pack gets here in a couple days. Also, I'm running Elrond because I've only got 2 heroes to pick from; him and Gil-Galad and Gil-Galad seems a little squishy with his D:6 and only 1 Fate Point. Again, models are notoriously hard to come by right now, especially leaders. So my Knights and Rivendell Commander kit should be here in a couple days and that will help things out for me.

But even so, putting Knights on horses and them making them stand still seems like a waste of points, but I'll give your suggestion a try. Then again, not all scenarios support this approach. For example, the last one I played was the Ancient Heirlooms one, and it was a mad dash to get to the various objectives and "discover" them, so hanging back wasn't happening for me. I'm not familiar enough with all the scenarios to know which ones/how many are like that though.
