Hello everyone recently I began playing 40k for the first time after a few year long break from the hobby. However one of my friends has a sizeable LoTR collection and I'm interested in playing against him on a regular basis. Since I already have some Haradrim from years back I decided to build a Harad force, but I'm not really familiar with the rulseset as of yet and what might be wise inclusions. So far I have one Mumak and 48 Harad warriors, half bowmen half spears.
Could any of you give me pointers on how to play the game/this army and what I might need to include (besides the obligatory captains). Thanks in advance!

I'd be interested in this as well, I think 2 Mumakil could be dangerous at 750 points kind of levels, but you'd need something to deal with Morgul Blades etc.

Any thoughts?

Personally I'm more interested if a Haradrim (specifically the Srepent's Horde) can be effective without a Mumakil.

Sulladan is a good starting point. A really good hero to field.
Abrakhan merchants guards can be very dangerous now that do not suffer -1 to hit with their double hand sword.
And I would add some cavalry... serpent knights, but also Haradrim raiders can be useful if you need cheaper models.
Unfortunately Karna guards are not so good, R 3 is really terrible.

I guess I should have specified Serpent Horde yes, in my time they were just called Harad but I guess we have far-Harad too now. I'm not opposed to allies, especially since those camels look so good but I'd prefer mono Serpent Horde. I was on the fence about Suladan, partially because he seems to be out of stock and because of lowish defence with only 1 fate sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. But if you vouch for him I will proxy him a bit too find out. How good is the Betrayer, his reroll aura seems pretty strong but I'm rather inexperienced with this game.
So any tips on how to play them on the field would be nice. Seeing as our bowlimit is 50% should we try to hang back? Or should I play more aggressive with the cav and maybe Mumak?

Edit: as for my collection, I rummaged trough my old stuff and found I actually do own Suladan albeit the old metal model, as well as an assassin and some captains.

50% bow limit and re-rolling 1's on poisoned weapons is incredible. Raiders are even great at harassing flanks and charging lone models.
