I can't tell if it's worth the time or money to try it as no one that I know around here plays. Anyone play it? If so, how do you like it?

Thanks

If you like cheap minis, conversions, and the basic mechanics of X-wing without as much special gear/pilots/etc then you will be well served.

Gaslands is great fun. And it's hard to get cheaper, really, as you can hit a thrift store and often find a bag full of Hot Wheels for just a few bucks. Slap some extra bits you may have lying around (or not), and you're good to go. The movement templates can be printed out and you can use standard d6 for the special shift dice (though you can also order some from several Etsy shops and the like).

Fun game, very easy to be into. Good communityon fb.

Modelling is.. addictive . In a good way... lol.

Only problem I've found is games take a very long time to complete. In theory the better you get with the rules, this should go down.

Yeah, early games definitely take a while, but they do speed up some. Even with that it still feels like there's not too much downtime, IMO, and I've had some of the best laughs playing this game, so I don't mind a little longer play times.

I think it's really important to play scenarios and use the Audience Votes. Both of those do help give some structure and accelerate the game some. A just driving free for all with no real scenarios can take a while (especially if you also aren't using Driver Perks), and can have the bad side effect of a player getting knocked out and just cooling their heels (something Audience Votes help with, since they let you respawn in many scenarios).

Gaslands is awesome fun. I have two forces painted up, with two more on the desk. Check out Guerilla Games on youtube for a bunch of videos of their games, or check below on this section of the forums.

I think the rules cost me 15 bucks on Amazon, and I started out with printed out sti kers on dice and templates, which have now been replaced with awesome laser printed stuff.
